About
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Title pretty much says it. Greens were terrible and pace of play was poor. Cut my round short because i didn’t plan on a 5-6 hour round.

Every hole has its own personality which makes the course consistently challenging. I love to play there.
Fun course
Fun course in the St Augustine area. Lots of moguls on coarse so not easy but very playable.
Horrible greens and timing
The greens are in horrible shape for the cost and especially a Florida course the starter just let people go out all Willy nilly
Poor conditions
Great layout, terrible conditions. Staff very friendly. Overall not worth the money. Sand on the boxes and greens. Fairways bad condition.
Get away
Course is not kept to well. Tee boxes unkept and greens poor.
The course was in terrible condition
First of all the “greens” were mud sprayed with blue fertilizer!
Tee boxes were weeds. Luckily the staff was great and the clubhouse was friendly
Might be it he worst course conditions I ever play. Greens had no grass and the traps had no sand and the tee boxes were bare.
st.Augustine
played there 2 years ago the course wasn't great but it was ok\ playable.this time when we went to play ,the only thing that was ok was most of the greens were good, the rest of the course was awful. if you can get it for maybe 10.00 it would be fair . No grass anywhere! the tees were nonexistent ,and fairways need some kind of grass.
Quirky, yet challenging
Greens are not as bad as other reviews are saying. It’s a quirky, yet challenging course. Some chewed up tee boxes, but yall gonna shank it anyways.
14th hole is hard to find, recommend more signage
Awful
Driving range was nothing but sand along with every tee box. Front 9 greens weren’t even worth trying to putt on. Back 9 was better. Staff was awesome, however this was by far the worst course I have ever played at.
When I arrived they told me the front nine was closed. Had to play back nine twice. Course not in good shape. Pace was slow
Getting better
First 4 holes had been punched and not rolled so were completely unputtable. For the most part it is a challenging course that is getting better.
