DO NOT COME HERE THIS COURSE IS PITIFUL SPRINKLERS WERE ON FOR MY LAST 4 HOLES DIDNT EVEN FINISH I AM SOAKING WET THERE ARE 4 TEMP GREENS IN THE FAIRWAY THAT ARENT MOWED AND EVERY OTHER GREEN IS HALF SAND DO NOT COME

Most tee boxes were 70% sand - 4 greens were closed - about half of the were 70-80% sand. Bunkers were just hard packed mud. Disappointed in the course conditions

I have played Royal St.Augustine 4-5 times yearly for over 15 years. The golf course has slowly degenerated into a tourist rip off of seasonal golfers. There are recent attempts to improve green conditions (there are 4 current temporary greens, NOT MENTIONED on Golf Now). The front 9 holes tee boxes, fairways, boundary lines, and every green is in absolute pathetic condition. The back 9 holes are an improvement but still equating to an aging public course generally found in abandoned inner city neighborhoods. It is so sad to see the former “Target Course” in the current condition. My last round has been played.

No warning, no discount - the course is not in playable condition and they are putting greens on the fairways while they “renovate” I suppose. It should be closed if not discounted to putt-putt rates. Disappointing.

Green is terrable and repairing now.

They need to close the course till fixed.

Several greens did not exist because they were being re-done. The other greens were very crappy (i.e. burnt out, overgrown, poorly maintained, etc.). Areas were flooded, too.

Course is unplayable. Hope you love the beach because every tee box is a sandbox. Not a single blade of grass inbetween the tee box markers. Also almost every green was "under renovation". The temporary greens that were in place were ripped up trashed parts of the fairway that were covered in sand and weeds. They were also 50-120 yards short of the yardage marked. Every bunker was drowned in 3-5 inches of water. The areas in the bunker that were not underwater were hard as a rock and damaged one of my wedges. Hole 6 was just closed completely. We were never told about the closure and were only told parts of a few greens were under renovations not the entire green. The staff member in the clubhouse was very rude and seemed upset we got our reservation on golfnow. He made sure to mention we got the cheap price 3-4 times. I think that "Cheap Price" of $25 is more than this course is worth. Drove 45 minutes to come to this course and will never be back. You should avoid at all cost.

Vera bad conditions, one hole closed, six greens in reparation and the 12 remaining needs repairs too.

The absolute worst course I’ve ever seen, walked off on 7. First 5 holes don’t have a green, 6 is closed. 7 had a green, unplayable. No tee boxes, all sand, 7 was off of the road or path. Is should be shut down . They said at 31.00 I was getting a deal. Unthinkable to charge people to play there, close it, fix it, start over. Corporate greed keeping it open..

If you're going to go play there play The back nine for the back eight I mean because one of the holes is under renovation and the front nine is all under renovation back nine has one hole that's being renovated but I would go around and play it twice

The front 9 should be closed until all work on the tees and greens are complete. Several holes had temporary greens and the greens that were open were in terrible condition, plus the 6th hole was closed to play. Most of the tees were bare dirt or had very little grass. The back nine condition was somewhat better but not much. There was one temporary green on the back nine. I would not recommend this course to anyone at this time.

The course was undergoing a lot of work - many temporary greens- one hole closed- tee boxes and course needs a great deal of maintenance and upkeep. It’s a good design - very tight with little to no room for stray shots- the greens that had been re sodded haven’t been cut so most greens are unputtable. You have about 26 full swings/shots compared to normal 36 full swings/ shot’s over 18 holes so you’ll get some decent swings/ practice in. No GOS on carts but the carts themselves are nice - the fairway distance markers 100-160-200 are meaningless with so many temporary frees. But any day on a golf course is a good day. Joined on 2nd hole by another golfer… then a third single golfer from 5th hole and a fourth from the back nine. I think the city of St. Augustine would do well by thinking of buying this course and putting some money and resources into it to make it a formidable public muni course. With the recent growth in tourism and relocation of population it would add value to the community.

Most of front nine greens closed back nine was ok.

We could only play front 9 twice, because back 9 was shut down. But hole 6 on the front 9 was also off limits so really we played 8 holes, twice. The the fairways were smoother than the greens and the fairways were not smooth. The greens were honestly the worst part. I used to enjoy this course a d it's sad to see it's really gone downhill. Booked for $30 a player. They charged us $25. Still too much for what we played.

Course is in utter dissaray. Conditions were not good. Understandable because Florida is dry right now some fairways and course needed watering. Several greens were temporary hole placements as they were either reseeding or fixing them. Pace of play was okay at best people trying to figure out what club to use on temp holes and driving thousand holes with carts. Not acceptable. Relaxing round nonetheless weather was great and price was good on golf now app. I found out when got to course why it was so low.
