About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Great place to play
All staff and maintenance people are very friendly
Course was okay but needs care
This course had nice greens but slow, the fairways were in not so good condition. Need to play this course a few times as it had hidden hazards
Wedgefield
Course is in ok condition. Greens were by far best about this course. Lack of grass on fairways was worst. Would like to see a ranger to keep pace of play moving.
Very little grass on course or on tee boxes. Had to club down to compensate for conditions. Greens were long and slow. Course length was good and overall course layout was fair. Our cart stalled on 4th hole. That was unfortunate but notwithstanding the exchange of carts, pace of play was good. We played based on reviews but the reviews did not match the course we played. No water, ball washers or amenities at course. Driving range was a grassless field. Would not recommend or plan to play again.
Golf course in April
The pace of play was slow compared to other times I’ve played here. Partly because they are aerating the fairways now but that’s just maintenance. Also the bunkers were more topsoil instead of sand. Hopefully they will refresh the bunkers soon too. Greens are in good shape.
Good Course but not so good conditions
Wedgefield is a nice, moderately challenging course that is reasonably priced. However, except for the greens, the rest of the course is barren desert like! You can't find a decent patch of grass on the fairway to hit from so, you end up hitting your ball from sand, literally. They have to do something to better the fairway and tee box conditions. Heavy seeding/massive patching may be an idea:-)
