About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Staff indicated that my GolfNow reservation is invalid
Arrived for my 11:30 reservation, the clerk indicated that the reservation was not valid, because Wedgefield have two designated time for hot buy prepaid tee time. He stated that the valid times are 11:08 and 11:21. He stated if I wanted to play I will have to pay the club rate, and it was my responsibility to contact GolfNow for my refund. I objected to the situation, and insisted that this should be an issue between GolfNow and Wedgefield golf club. A short while later, he stated he received a cancellation, so he would make an exception, allowing me to play using the GolfNow reservation. I don’t believe this should have happened. I booked my tee time from the night before, therefore if by chance, there are any concerns with the allotted Hot Buy slots, it should be fixed by club management and GolfNow.
Nice Course Layout
I had read the reviews before booking (some bad and the more recent ones good) so was a little worried as never played here before. I was glad I did book. The course has some interesting holes to make you think about your shots with lots of dog legs !! The Tee boxes were fine, the fairways a little patchy in places and the greens were green. My only complaint about the greens were they were very slow but I put this down to the fact they looked newish and they must have been letting the grass really take root Overall I really enjoyed my round and will be back to play again in the near future. best condition in 15 years
My buddy and I have played the wedge for over 15 years and the course is in the best shape ever for us. we've seen the horrible conditions from years ago but I can honestly say I've never seen a course turn it around as well as Wedgefield. Most notably, the greens are really nice and roll normally instead of abysmally slow as they did for years. Kudos to all involved for the transformation. We've always enjoyed the layout but to have the course in nice condition is just primo! Keep it up, guys!
Like night and day
Played here a few years ago and the course needed a lot of work. That work has paid off. The course is now in fabulous shape. I will be playing here often.
Surprised
I have been sporadically playing this course since 2018. It is in the best shape ever. Greens run true and fairway are looking great. Excellent improvement
Getting better
Getting better all the time. Sanded greens today while we were playing.didn't know they were doing it. Made putting difficult. But since it will make more improvements I'm OK with it
Owner is doing a great job. I just hope the rates don't change

Owner is putting his heart, soul and wallet into this most improved golf course.

Should have at least 100/150 and200 makers ( not much to ask and not expensive). Should also have red,white and blue flag on the green. Again not much to ask.
Amazing
This course has exceeded both mine, and my friends opinions. Fantastic layout. Incredible course management. Tee boxes and greens are perfect. I'll be back.
Improved conditions
Our group had not played here for quite a while but were impressed with the improved conditions from the last time we were here. We would return and do recommend the course.
Efforts noticed!
Played this course for the first time in 1985, liked it so much I bought a house in the community..Lived there for 6 yrs n had my best round ever there, love the course. Over the years it's had it's ups and downs, but the efforts made recently by the new owner are not only noticeable, but greatly appreciated, by me anyway. Thanks and I'll be back!

The Owner never stops!!!
The course is looking amazing. Every time I am there I always see the owner out doing something to improve the course. Anthony in the pro shop is such a great guy!! Hannah and Natalie are the best in the Wedge. I will be playing here a lot this winter.

there was no mention on Golfnow and the course was being aerated when I got there,,,about an inch of sand on all the greems,,,,like putting at the beach

The distance markers need to be replace every three years and cost approx. $40 each. Flags are required to be change annually at a cost of $15/ each.
The club decided that most players have some form of a range finder and did not see the need to continue with an old traditions related to checking your distance.
I hope you took the time to appreciate the effort that has gone into the improvement of the golf course.
