About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Golfer Reviews
First time
First time playing Wedgefield . Pro shop was very helpful and extremely nice. Had lunch food was awesome. Greens very impressive. Over all a great day.
Fantastic corse
Really enjoy playing here, the course is in fantastic condition.
Staff couldn’t be more helpful or friendly, great bunch.
We will definitely be back to play
Great geens.
Good conditions. Punishes long driver. Can't way to play it again.
Nice shape
I have played Wedgefield many times over the years but not in the last 6-7 years. I was pleasantly surprised at how good a shape the course is in. Really enjoyed the round!
Surprise
golf course is good shape ,the greens were slow but roll true;
Short hole and long holes you can practice all your clubs
Small greens and fairways
Fantastic shape right now
Course is in fantastic shape right now. Very apparent that the people at wedgefield are taking great care of the course. Fun, long holes. One of my favorite to play
Great course for the price
I like this course, the people here and it had an old school feel to it of golf course long ago with al the locals playing midweek. It was a cheap hotdeal, the conditions in all fairness were close to a 3, the pace, price and all the rest on a midweek were closer to 5. Check this one out if you are looking for a decent round for a deal where you will have fun.
Improving every time!
Love to see where this course has gone the past couple of years. Best value golf in central Florida. Better amenities and conditions and this course will be great
Well done Craig Cooke
Rated 5 because of the price vs the course conditions. Of course it’s not Disney or Eagle Creek but
If you saw this course before Craig bought it you would have said ‘cattle pasture’. Craig has done wonders. Replaced ever green and fairways looking great.
The price compared to some of the others around is very good and I enjoy playing here (which is 2-3 times a week).
If I didn’t have to travel so much I would become a member.
Oh and regarding the clubhouse the girls are fantastic and already know what I want as soon as I walk in the door.
Great staff
Overall course was in good shape, greens rolled true. fairways in good condition. Price was good and restaurant/bar was very accommodating
Decent Course
The pace of play was quite poor. No starter and seemed like they just were pumping people out onto the course so there were a lot of singles and twosome stacking up. The course was in decent shape and the greens were mostly ok. Can't complain for $25.
How do you not have enough carts???
Where to start, we arrived 35 minutes prior to our 1:10 tee time to be told that we’re on a waiting list for carts and it should be about a half an hour. No problem I said can I get a bucket of range balls to which they answer “we’re out of range balls”.
While standing at the practice green at the first tee a group pulled up at 1:30 with a cart and we asked what time their tee time was and they told us they were a walk up. When I asked the guy in the pro shop how does that happen and he answered that he had a gap in the schedule. Not sure how he had a gap when we’re at 1:45 and his 1:10 has yet to even get a cart!! The group that pulled up were understanding and even gave up the cart and then we waited another 10 minutes before the other two we we’re playing with received a cart. The course itself was in good shape and the greens were nice but with many options in the area I doubt I’ll ever be back!
