Wedgefield Golf Club

About
The course at the Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, although suitable for all golfers, is most appropriate for intermediate players. The affordably priced Wedgefield Golf Club used to be known as Rocket City and Cape Orlando. The course has a classic-Florida style layout with medium sized greens that are guarded by bunkers and fairways lined with cypress trees. There is water on the golf course but it is not a significant factor in the game. However, there is one hole, the par-3 sixth hole that is surrounded on three sides by water. Wedgefield Golf & Country Club, in addition to the course, has a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Decent Course
Greens in excellent condition. Rolled very nicely. Fairways have bare spots in many areas. Many weeds around the fairways. Bunkers did not have much sand in them, mostly hard dirt. Good open layout with some water hazards and trees. Decent course for the money.
Only front 9 open
Only the front 9 open. I would have liked to know that before I booked. The front 9 were in exellent condition and we had to play them twice. Greens were exellent. Hope it will be open next time I play.
Due to maintenance we had to play the back nine twice
Did not know the front nine was closed due to maintenance. Did not appreciate having to play the back nine twice.
EXCELLENT GREENS
The course has come all the way back.. Great course and challenging.. First played Wedgefield in 1978, so I've seen this course come full circle.. great job ! Now we can work on opening the bar/restaurant again!
Course was in average shape. However, not a course to play after it has rained.
Zero complaints 👌
Course was in great condition. Greens were consistent and overall the course wasn't too difficult. Played solo with my wife as a rider and groups let me play through which was considerate. Shop pro was helpful with his directions and had no problem with be bringing a rider. Great place to play
Course is in Great Shape
This course is in great shape. One of the best courses in eastern Central Florida. Well worth your time.
Go play here NOW
I've played this course on and off for 30 years, (Rocket City, Cape Orlando) and this is in the best shape it has ever been.
IDK if it was the day everything was mowed perfectly, or what, but it was plush. Thick, green grass over the whole course. The greens roll about a 9.5. Not crazy fast, or slow. Burmuda rough is penal but not unplayable. Bunkers were a bit wet from recent rains but playable.
This course is in better condition than most way higher priced courses in the Orlando area. You won't be disappointed.
Nice course
The restaurant is permanently closed, so that's why the off course amenities was rated low. The fairways are a bit long, but have good grass. The rough is Bermuda and thick. The greens are very good, firm but receptive.
Overall a good track for the price...
They don't care if your round takes 5 hours
This had the potential to be a better rating except they don't marshal the course, so an extremely slow threesome let multiple holes open ahead of them while all tee boxes behind them piled up with two or three groups waiting. This was my first time returning to this course in a few years and it will probably be a few more now before I forget this and think of returning.
