About
The 18-hole championship course at Don Shula's Golf Club is one of those courses that just seems to get better as you play your way around.
The first few holes are fairly open and not overly difficult. However, things start to get more difficult as you continue. By the time you make it to the 11th green, you'll know that you're in for a real dogfight. The fairways on the back get tight and there's water on just about every hole. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course from start to finish.
There are tennis courts, multiplex, fitness center etc. There’s something for everyone. The hotel's onsite amenities include upscale dining at the Original Shula's Steak House and casual dinning at the Bull Pen, which serves breakfast lunch and light dinner until 7pm.

Great start to the golf trip
The senator course provided a very enjoyable golf experience. The water on many of the holes provides some challenging tee shots. And while you may have some fairly short approaches, you need to be precise with them due to the slopes in the greens. Friendly staff and excellent pace of play on a Monday morning. Very good value for the area.
Nice course but where are the rangers?
The course is a nice layout with excellent greens. However, eighteen holes took over five hours. Waited on every single shot. The one ranger I saw just drove by the offending group.

Our morning groups up to 12:00pm were completing their rounds in under 4.5 hours. We will continue to work with our Ranger staff to improve the pace of play throughout the day.

Poor management
Showed up half hour early for 1:30 tee time. At 1:30 there were six foursomes waiting on no. 1 tee. Scheduling too close together? Allowing morning replays and squeezing them in between reserved tee times? Slow play? Been playing 40 years, none of these or any other excuses for being an hour or more off schedule flies in my opinion. I won't be back. I was refunded my course fee, but not for gas for the 40-minute one-way drive, nor the tolls.

I sincerely apologize that you did not have a good experience. As I communicated to you, your group would have teed off at 1:38pm with two other players. There were other groups on the tee waiting for their appropriate time. Morning groups were not squeezed in ahead of you. We will make sure that the Starter is properly communicating with all groups on the tee before play. We hope that you will try us again in the future.

We had a very nice day
With all the rain received this year i would say that the course offered much better conditions than anticipated. Tee offs, greens, bunkers and middle of fairways offered very decent conditions. We always enjoy playing this course as it is very challenging especially on the back nine at 3500 yds. which was still wet although only 2 holes were cart path only.

disappointing pace of play
I regret to write such a bad review, but the pace of play spoiled the entire round.
We knew that booking a tee time of exactly 2pm in January might lead us to not finishing the round. Still we didn't expect it to be that bad.
Instead of starting in time, we had to wait about 15 minutes at the 1st tee already. From then, it took us another 3:40 hours to play 12 holes. Fortunately most of the Flights ahead of us gave up either after hole 9 or hole 12, so we could play three more holes quickly before ending in total darkness on the 15th green at 6:20.
The course conditions weree fine on the front nine and very soggy on the back nine. The course layout is hard to judge, as we missed too many holes including the signature #18.
Impossivle to say anything about the off course amenities as everything was closed when we came back.

I sincerely apologize that the pace of play was too slow. Our twilight rates start at 2pm. These rates are reduced since 18 holes is not guaranteed due to an early sunset. I personally drove the golf course in the late morning. I was unable to ride the course in the afternoon. I would love for you to come back and enjoy our course with a more acceptable pace of play. Good Value
We got a great deal at Golfnow.com for this course, which we've played quite a few times before. Overall the condition of the course is pretty good, some bare spots on the tee boxes, fairways and rough. The greens are very slow. Pace of play was excellent, about three and a half hours even with a threesome in front. The back nine, because of much rain earlier in the week, was waterlogged. Normally this is more difficult than the front nine anyway, but with water on the course it is doubly difficult. All in all, a nice day.

Greatest disparity there is between front & back. Better get your score in the front, bc the back will take it back!!!

Nice track
Holes were well laid out and provided a good challenge. Back nine was very wet because of rain and had to lift and clean and keep to cart paths which slowed things down. Number 10 was not in use. Still a nice day on the links.

First Time at Shulas
Front nine was really nice. Back 9 has some drainage issues. Greens and fairways were very well maintained. Our cart had two sand containers for divot repairs. Both had shovels and were filled with empty beer cans. No sand to repair divots. The round took us a little over 5 hours, which is long. The cart girl never showed up once. All in all, the staff was nice, but I"m not sure I"d go back unless there was no rain for the previous 2 weeks so the back 9 was somewhat dry.

It appears you played on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is traditionally our busiest day of the year. We tracked pace of play throughout the day and found that goflers who started after 12pm were completeing their round in 4 hrs 30 mins and 4 hrs 45 mins. We apologize for the cart not being prepped properly with sand in the containers. This will be brought up to all outside staff. The F&B department has hired new bev cart staff that will provide better service than what you received. We hope to see you back once the weather improves.

Good Value
Regrettably South Florida has gotten lots of rain and the ground is saturated. Many of the holes on the back 9 are restricted to cart path only. Not enough rope restrictions to keep irresponsible golfers from damaging the fairways. The fairway on 14 is awful to ride on.

Great course for the money
I played at Don Shula's golf club for the first time on 10/24/15. It was a windy day, so it made the course more difficult . Overall, it was a great course to play. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. There is lots of water on the course, but if you are a good player, you should not have any problems. The pace was a little slow. My friend and I played by ourselves, and we were following another twosome. Apparently, they had a bet on the game, so they were taking their time on the greens like the pros. Looking at their putts from every angle. They past the foursome in front of them, and we got stuck behind them. They were the worst players I had ever seen. Some of them took six strokes to get to the green. wwe were frustrated at that point. We drove up to them and said something. Reluctantly, they let us through . We were on a fast pace for two players again. I'm planning on playing there again next weekend.

Starting times during mid morning to early afternoon typically run on average of 4.5 hours due to the amount pf players.
