About
The 18-hole championship course at Don Shula's Golf Club is one of those courses that just seems to get better as you play your way around.
The first few holes are fairly open and not overly difficult. However, things start to get more difficult as you continue. By the time you make it to the 11th green, you'll know that you're in for a real dogfight. The fairways on the back get tight and there's water on just about every hole. All in all, it's a very enjoyable course from start to finish.
There are tennis courts, multiplex, fitness center etc. There’s something for everyone. The hotel's onsite amenities include upscale dining at the Original Shula's Steak House and casual dinning at the Bull Pen, which serves breakfast lunch and light dinner until 7pm.

Good value
The back 9 had standing water in places and was cart path only though it didn't rain. There appears to be a problem with drainage on the back 9.
it was ok
I enjoyed my round in August more, but that was on a Saturday AM. My tee time on Sunday was at 3pm and the course was in a little worse shape
F&B - cart girl done at 3, but was able to catch her in the grill to grab some drinks for the round.
Greens - front 9 needed to be mowed, looked like a day or 2 worth of growth,. Not so bad but the back 9 had been maintained better and the greens rolled faster. Not fun to find out on the first couple of holes. Soft so they held the ball well, but why can't my fellow golfers repair thier ball marks...
Fairwarys - were in the same shape as last time i played.
Pace - could have played faster but we ended up finishing in 3.5 hours.

Good outting
Front side in good shape. Back side fairways in a bit poor condition due to rain. All greens in good shape. I love this course, a blend of very simple holes and creative holes.

Nice Course, Great Greens, Awful Back 9 Fairways
The Course is in better condition than in the past (beautiful green, front 9 fairways). However, if you want to play after a day or two of rain, you may want to skip this course because the drainage of the back 9 fairways are not up to par. I lost 2 balls in the fairway because it was basically a swamp.

This total was more than 6.5 inches over our normal rainfall for August & September. The additional rains did not allow our back 9 to drain porpoerly. No matters the time of the year, the course is in pristine shape!
During summer time, my buddies and I play almost every week in this course. Great values for the money, especially if you do the bonanza deal! Tee box, fairways and greens are in perfect shape! The only thing, I lost one of my club and hopefully someone turned it in! Waiting for a phone call...

Great lay-out poor conditions
This course is amazing; but they need to improve the drainage on the back 9... Any time there is rain... And this is south Florida.... The back 9 becomes standing puddles everywhere.
If they can get that addressed, this course would be at the top of any list in south Florida.

The course is great quality for the price
The course was playing solid conditions and the pace of play was moving nicely. The back 9 gets very flooded when a rain storm comes through. Front 9 drains well. No rain check policy so bring your rain gear.

Hard to find balls in the rough
Sometimes you have to be right on top of the ball to see it in the rough. I know.... what am I doing in the rough, anyway?

This is a must in the Miami area. Challenging with tons of water, especially on the back 9. Regret not playing it a second time on the vacation.

Great course in the Doral Area
Nice course and was able to tee off as a single ahead of the Saturday 4-some's ! The greens were in fantastic condition and since there was a lot of rain they held the ball a little better . Rough just off the fairway was as challenging as anywhere that I have played .

Great value for $30
The greens here roll great. They are very consistent and putts stay on line. Id say they are better than almost any other course I've played in Miami (that is on golf now). The back nine is pretty challenging with a lot of tee shots that have water on one or both sides. For $30 with a cart this is one of the better deals in the area.

A bit disappointed
I had expectaexpecexpectations that this facility would live up to the quality standards of the Shula's Steakhouses I've been to. However, the facilities are very dated, and the course is in moderate condition with shaggy tee boxes, patchy fairways, and slow greena. The staff expected you to know all about the place and never expected someone would be there for the first time, let alone all the way from Michigan while on vacation. Its a nice layout and has tons of potential. We peeked into the steakhouse itself when we were leaving, and it was top notch. Too bad the rest of the property isnt the same caliber.
