The tee shot on 14 at Meadowlands requires a golfer's sense of humor to navigate successfully. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 11/07/2018
Meadowlands
Excellent experience. Course has very interesting layout and is a good test. Tricky greens with tough pin placements the day I played. Many holes placed on ridges. No players ahead or behind. Noon start. Finished in well under 4 hrs (twosome). Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Very nice, challenging course
Water hazards in play on most holes. Course in good condition and pace of play was excellent.
Favores short hitters.
Nice course but definately geared to the shorter hitters, male, female or senoirs. Lots of water influencing your shots, specially the back nine.
Longer hitters should go across the road to Farmstead. Par six eighteenth hole.
Great course with friendly staff
Played this course 3 times this week and found the course to be good to excellent condition. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Most golfers appear to be just relaxing and enjoying their round, so expect the 4 hour round.
Enjoy the weather and find the humor in watching players tee off the white and carry 100 yards 10% of the time, while topping or losing the ball wide left and right the other 90% of the time. Seriously, play the gold or red tees, if you cannot drive the ball past the forward tees.
Nice course, nice clubhouse and nice people
The course is in fairly good shape : the tee boxes were overseeded and now look very nice , fairways are fine and the greens roll nicely. We enjoyed our round despite a very slow front nine. I wish a marshall had come around to get the couple in front of us moving faster.
Very nice course a play again
The course was in excellent shape, a little wet but we had lots of rain the staff did a great job getting it ready to play
A nice challenging layout
Staff was very friendly,
A play again course
Very good value in Calabash
We played the course for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. Despite the maintenance done this time of the year, i.e., overseeding, the course conditions were quite good and the greens were in good shape. The first 3 holes are testy but the rest are quite fine. The back 9 is easier than the front 9 but has some challenges. You'll find a nice clubhouse and friendly staff.
Very open and friendly
We were looking for a relaxing round on our travel day back home and found just that at Meadowlands. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and got us out right on time without feeling rushed at all. We found the fairways to be wide and the greens large and accommodating, yet the course had enough water features and length to present an adequate challenge. Overall, the course was in excellent condition from tee to green and including generously soft sand in the bunkers. It’s a great place to begin or end your trip.
Alligator Sanctuary
the only problem with this course was that we did not see any alligators even though there were lots of " Alligator Sanctuary " signs posted.
Great day at Meadowlands although we had to adhere to CPO due to heavy rains the day before.
Would recommend and will return.
Great layout, loved it.
This course is stress free for me. Large fairways, lots of sand, very good greens. Loved it.
3rd Day Course for Myrtle Beach World Am
Played this course again this year (2017) in the Myrtle Beach World Am. I gave it a rough review last year because of conditioning. I was not anticipating much this year because the weather and course was just as wet as it was last year.
Well, I was surprised. The greens were the best we played on all week. The bunkers, although wet, had been manicured and were in very good shape (something I could not say last year). The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good job Meadowlands!!!!
Great course
After days with steady rain, we were relegated to the cart path only but the course was in great shape considering.
I'm looking forward to playing this course again soon and hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate and it will dry out.
Good layout, multiple tees so playable for any handicap
Extremely wet after rain storms, Greens excellent very well drained. Playable course for all handicaps.
.
Nice track for the money
Not as nice as their sister course (Farmstead), but it's a fun track that can be enjoyed by all. You couldn't ask for better service. It's not "high end" but it is worthy of 4 stars. I'll be back!
Had the course to myself
Played around 1pm and was done by 3:30. Not sure if it was due to the holiday or extreme heat, but saw only 2 other golfers several holes away during my round. Some greens had a few thin spots, but putted OK.
