North Shore Golf Course
About
The 18-hole North Shore Golf Club in Orlando, Florida is a semi-private golf course that opened in 2001. The course slides around lakes and wetlands, and then detours through a grove of large ancient oak trees before re-emerging into the clear at the finish. It has two distinct nines converging to form one remarkable 18-hole layout. Begin your round on the Modern nine, winding through native wetlands and Florida's natural topography. The Classic nine is carved through a grove of 100-year old oak trees, creating an enjoyably unique setting for your finishing holes. North Shore Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and offers a complete practice facility and world-class instruction.

#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

Still my favorite
Course has taken a beating this summer. Some greens and Tee boxes are in dire need of TLC.
Still one of my favorite places to play.
Better places in Orlando
This course is terrible and the staff has a terrible attitude. Wouldnt play here if it was free.
course management was poor
greens were not in great condition
course was very narrow and pin placement awkward
was not worth 35$ on a hot deal
Nice place
Course has a great layout. pace of play isnt bad. not in the best condition right now but it will
get better as the weather changes and cools things off a little. I enjoy playing here and recommend playing here.
Really nice course- but SUPER wet after rain
Really lovely, challenging and scenic. There was a HUGE rain night before, so many areas were exceptional water hazards, many sand traps were ponds . Staff were very cheerful and helpful. We enjoyed and look forward to returning.
Disappointed- So much potential
I played this morning and was extremely disappointed. The recent rain has made this course almost unplayable. Much of the rough and some of the fairways have been consumed by a swamp. The conditions of this course do not value the $80 charged. This course has so much potential but it’s going to take weeks before the course can heal from the recent rains. No one in the proshop warned my group about this- it was a surprise and we were all disappointed. This could be an amazing track but instead it’s a soupy mess.
Course conditions
There had been heavy rains the night before we played. Though there were some soggy spots the course was in great shape. The course was interesting and a challenge
Don’t waste your money for a course manager who cares less about anybody but himself
This has been a long time coming.. I've have given this course thousands over the years and probably shouldn't have. The course overall is not taken care of the way Eagle Creek and other courses in the area, yet NS charges prices that are way too high for what you are getting.
Last year, I sent an email to Robbie the course manager. After no response and several follow-ups, he finally agreed to a meeting. I gave him candid feedback on the course from how bad the greens are, to the riffraff they allow on the course who plays a 6 hour round, to the tall grass around the fairways, etc. His response to me was that he did not agree with anything I said but was willing to give me a round on him on a Saturday to prove they can keep the course of play. I eventually went back to play a round and they still didn't have a pace keeper and the grounds were in average condition. I decided to not go back for almost 8 months until recently. I play several rounds over the past few weeks and most recently was Monday. I played over the last couple weeks and I will say Monday was the worst shape I’ve seen in again. The fairways are tore up , the greens are tore up, and most frustrating is the grass is so tall, all the fairways on every single hole, if you cannot find your ball at all.
I can’t tell you how many times I had a ball stuck into mud on the fairway or the rough . The side of the fairway grass was like a jungle, and it was nearly impossible to be able to find your ball to hit out. Also, the lawn guys could care less if you’re playing on a hole they will just continue to work around you and you have to hope you don't hit them.
To my next point, the tee boxes are absolutely disgusting. I don’t understand how they continue to justify the prices that they are charging. I paid almost 60 bucks to play a round Monday morning , and on Saturday morning as well and paid almost 80.
I sent an email to Robbie expressing my concerns and this is what he responded with:
I am sorry you feel that way. We are still relatively busy for summer time and those are the going rates this time of year. Unfortunately when you overseed heavy in the winter time it sometimes is a more difficult transition for the bermudagrass. Summertime we always battle heat, weather, weeds, disease etc. For the most part everyone is happy with the course and the rate they are paying. Most people seem to understand conditions in the summer are not always ideal. If you are unhappy with the course, maybe you should wait till the end of fall or beginning of season as conditions will only continue to improve.
Ideal is not even the word, the grass being 6' tall is because you are not managing your grounds crew properly. Has nothing to do with all of the empty excuses in your email to me. I do not know how he has kept his job for 14 years but it's a shame he does not take any pride in this course. He is very arrogant and super condescending. His belief is he will get the LN customers no matter what, so he feels he can manage the course with the bare minimum and respond the way he does because "most customers are happy", etc. This is not really the case, but not everyone writes reviews online. I myself have reframed from writing a review because I wanted to give candid feedback and hope that was heard. But clearly that is not the case.
Not worth the mney
I like the course and have played it many times. Conditions at present are not ideal. Front 9 green are very patchy. Back 9 tee boxes are bad. Not much sand in bunkers and rakes are missing. Overall ot wort te mone the are charging.
North shore is a must play.
Excellent facility from pro shop, to practice tee, straight to a difficult and fun golf course!
Great price but
Tee boxes need some attention. Some of the greens were spotty. Course not in bad shape but I've seen it better.
Hopeful…..
One of my favorite courses on the East side of town. Great layout, pro shop staff were nice, beverage cart person was also very nice! Course needs some rain and the patches to improve for it to be top notch again. Too many 2somes on course who were super slow. Other than that, had a great time!
Great Course but Sub Par Conditions
Let me start by saying I have played this course a number of times (roughly 60 times) and this was the worst I have seen the conditions by far. There were at least six greens, and probably half of the tee boxes that had Serious issues! Not sure if it is due to the excessive rainfall we've had in the Central Florida area and potentially there is a grass fungus issue. However, several of the tee boxes were basically just sand and a few patches of grass thrown in, and several of the greens had bear patches all over them.
As someone who has played this course many times and really enjoys it, and I would consider it a regular in my golf rotation. Until these conditions improve I cannot see myself coming back anytime soon. It's too bad, because it really is a fun course. The staff is friendly and the location is pleasant. The layout is challenging yet fair, but with that said paying $75 to play this course in this conditions, well I felt a bit ripped off and I would say based on the current conditions it's not more than a $35-$45 round of golf at best. Sorry, North Shore I am a real fan of the course but these conditions are Sub-Par and you guys have to step your game up if you expect people to pay $75 to play these conditions in the summer.
