North Shore Golf Course
About
The 18-hole North Shore Golf Club in Orlando, Florida is a semi-private golf course that opened in 2001. The course slides around lakes and wetlands, and then detours through a grove of large ancient oak trees before re-emerging into the clear at the finish. It has two distinct nines converging to form one remarkable 18-hole layout. Begin your round on the Modern nine, winding through native wetlands and Florida's natural topography. The Classic nine is carved through a grove of 100-year old oak trees, creating an enjoyably unique setting for your finishing holes. North Shore Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and offers a complete practice facility and world-class instruction.

#13 fairway, long and wide. Ignore the brown grass in the foreground - the fairways are lush enough to hit fairway woods on the par 5s with ease. Photo submitted by Buckleahy on 02/23/2013

Local Course Overpriced
Local course, price needs to be about $15-$20 cheaper per round. Course is undergoing some bad patches and fairways and on the greens. Hopefully the patches heal in time for the winter season.
good value for money
Northshore is usually in good conditions and very good greens. The course was still very wet from 2 hurricanes and still lots of brush and debris down. We played on Monday, course was empty!! Couple greens had some fungis issues. Couple sand traps where washed out again, two hurricanes. For November, in Orlando Florida, on a MOnday, its a very good value for the money. It isnt a resort course, and NO resort course price either!!
Needs some tlc
Have played this course a few times over the years on an annual golf trip, and it’s always held up well. Granted, the Orlando area has had some severe weather this fall, but other courses that I played did not reflect this. Poor North Shore was wet, tee boxes were thin, and many greens had damage or some type of disease. Fairways were ok, some bunkers were maintained, some not. Pace of play on a Saturday am on a holiday weekend was fantastic- about 4 hrs. At this time, not worth the price, but hope improving conditions will return in the near future.
Very Unprofessional Pros
We’ve been playing North Shore for a few months regularly, since it’s one of the few courses that we can get 3-4 players booked consistently. This past weekend, we booked a foursome but our fourth couldn’t make it. I’m flabbergasted the pro shop silently charged my card for the 4th the following week when it was a fairly open tee sheet. When we teed off, the group in front us was at least 4 holes ahead of us. The group that followed us was at least 4-5 holes behind us. It was a completely empty tee sheet, yet the pro I guess needed to make a quota for the day by charging for the fourth. Extremely unprofessional for the pro to charge us on an empty day when our group has been booking tee times fairly consistent. If the goal was to chase away customers, congratulations, you’ve achieved that goal.
In addition, the greens are in extremely poor shape. There appears to be a fungus on several of the greens including very large patches around pin positions. Most fairways are washed away or patchy. The bunkers are inconsistently filled.
The restaurant and cart staff are amazing though. It’s unfortunate the pros are more interested in short term quotas than keeping a customer coming back multiple times a month.
There is no ranger, so pace of play varies. On some days, we’ve had a 3 hour round, but if you get stuck behind multiple slow groups, the pace could be 6+ hours (we skipped 2 holes to avoid a 6 hour round)
Nice course
Never playing this course before I had no expectations, got it on a great deal and enjoyed my afternoon chasing golf balls around!!!
Course needs help
This course is typically in fairly good shape, but it is in deep need of attention. There are dead’ spots all over the fairways, and the greens are not in good shape. Hopefully with all the weed killing they are doing, and sanding of the greens, this course will play well again in the next month or two.
RAnge Time
Unfortunately if players want too experiment on a new technique on a club and swing you have too pat for 18 holes of golf
Disappointed
Been going to Florida many years. Played several places. Some very nice, some not.
The staff was awesome. The course left a little to be desired for me. Most of the greens had several bad spots. Fairways had dead areas. I loved the layout. Requires good shots the score. Needs a little TLC. Joined up with a 3 some. Had a nice day. Just wish the course would have been in better condition. Was not a value for me.
Poor condition
Maybe it was a hangover from the storm, but course was not up to it's usual standards..greens were in transition to winter rye..with splots marks all over..of course we were not told when booking..
Average
The greens were pretty good. Fairways pretty good. Pace of play was great for a Saturday. Fair price for October in Florida.
Nice Course
I like playing North Shore but it is often hard to find a tee time. I was surprised to get the last slot on a hot deal and then play a round on my own !
Course is a good layout, not super long but challenging overall Course was in good condition, a couple of greens needed work on them but did not affect your game
I will be back, if I can find a tee time !!
Pleasant Day @ North Shore
First, all courses in Central FL hurt by Hurricane, and North Shore has fungus on greens & fwys, which they are diligently trying to eradicate. I joined another Single GN player, got off early and thoroughly enjoyed our conversation & pace of play. I explained how North Shore normally has great greens & conditions, but understandable excuse. We still scored in mid-80s, and I think John appreciated me telling him aiming points & how to play the hole. The par5s played tough for me, but I'm Old & distance challenged. We didn't putt well, but blame the shakey stroke.
Sand bunkers need work, but then again there are greater priorities.
Thanxx to GN for the Hot Deals 🔥...... I'll be back (if its just to par #9 & 11..
