The Metropolitan Golf Links

Not a particular an eye appealing venue. The greens were well kept but fairway were marginal possibly suffered from being located on the bay . I have played this course in the past and have found it to be windy due to it's location. However on Saturday the winds were at least 15 to 20 MPH gusting stronger at times.

Turned out to be a disappointing round even though scoring reasonably.

Great course, very open link style course. Lots of strategy on almost every hole, position off the tee gives great looks at birdie, but if you mishit drives you still have the ability to make par. Wind can be very challenging.

Super easy to walk, highly recommend walking this golf course

We quit after 9 holes as pace was going to be over 5 hrs for 18.

EVERY TIME I go the Met, it's fivesomes, employees are rude and its a 5:15/5:30 round. I'm done...facility is great if you want to hit balls...but everyone including the starter always has an attitude...

I'm out!

I don't like courses where. You can just drive anywhere you want to . You would think since Cal. University of California uses this facility to practice it would be a great time worng.

You really can’t go wrong with this course, overall just good course. The snack bar could use additional help to keep up, could not get anything at turn because there people waiting in line.

Absolutely best day to golf with the beautiful, sunny weather, not too strong winds tho wind directions changed between holes - added challenge. Course was in good shape. Staff were very friendly. Pace was a little slow the front nine but improved from the ten hole. Overall a great day. Thank you Metropolitan.

Love this course. Greens are as good as you find at any muni and mostly better. The bunkers are average and the greenside ones need more sand.

This course drains as good as any in the Bay Area so playing after rain is no problem.

My complaint is that they are allowing 5 somes on Mon-Thurs. This slows play, especially early in the morning when a normal walking 4 some could play in 4 hours(or less). They claim that they tell the 5 somes they must keep up, but there is little or no enforcement.

Otherwise a great muni track.

It was just another Saturday round of golf, but there was something in the air. It was overcast, so this normally windy course was calm and clear. A 7am t-time when no mere mortal is awake the golf gods were already on their second coffee--for whatever reason they smiled on me this day. I'm an 18 handicap with a few mulligans, so to hit a 74 was out of line completely. My friends could only laugh and watch in wonderment as my 50' putts and chip ins defied the odds. Its a strange game and I'm not sure who to thank, but I will give at least some credit to Oakland Metro golf links. Thank you.

Never, and I mean never, have I played in wind that bad. It was a steady 30-35 (w/ occasional 40-45 mph gusts) bringing the wind-chill factor down to below freezing. The cool temp was bad enough but the absolutely biting (steadily 5+ club) wind was unbearable. However, since booked on GNow, and knew I would get no refund, I "played" (and I use that term generously) 18. The greens were so smooth and firm that balls were blowing completely off them from a standing start. Anyway, sad I couldn't enjoy the fact that the course was in great shape, and no one else was on it for my entire back nine. Will never do that again. Course fine. Weather.....MISERABLE.

A “go to” almost any time. Close, economical and enough challenge for you and your buddies. It’s going to be windy in the afternoon.
