The Metropolitan Golf Links

Metro offers everything you want in a course. Grass driving range, short game area, multiple putting greens and a solid challenge. Conditions were better than most muni's I've played recently. Greens were very good.(held a good shot and consistent and smooth service except for some unrepaired ball marks) A few tees were closed for repair on the back side.

The recent rains made the course pretty soggy and the pace of play was slow but not extremely terrible. Otherwise fairly good course to get in a round at a great price.

Overall Course is in great shape considering lack of rain. Position off the tee is key, fairway bunkers come into play for players of all length. Greens are fairly large with enough slope to bring three puts into play but they roll true.

I do like the course for one next to an airport,I has its own charm and some interesting holes.Only thing here is the play is almost always very slow and even the best round when your waiting at every hole starts to go bad.The course was in good condition given Cali's unfortunate weather the last few years....So I guess I should be happy to even play golf right?

The putts were rolling true...nice greens.....

Tee time was 6:58 AM ... first out. Awesome! It just took a little over three wonderful hours (just two players with a cart.)

Thanks to Golf Now, I got a good price for this course. The course was in great shape, and left challenging tee shots for the long hitters! I hope to find this price again!

several of the holes were hard to find..there was no path..

Greens in great shape, little slow. Wide open fairways but some tricky bunkers. Nice breezes on a warm east bay day

Always backed up every time I play here. 5 hours only finished 11 holes . Ran out of golf carts so I had to wait after my tee time .

Mostly flat course with wide fairways with on meandering creek that cuts through several holes. This is a links style course so no trees ever come into play except willows allow the meandering creek.

Booked 2 for 1 PM Sunday start several days in advance. Under $50 to play. Wedding at the location, parking was still available. Paired with another twosome. The course played slightly challenging, mostly due to wind from the west off the bay. Greens were bumpy (match partner said they'd been micro-plugged recently), making longer putts more difficult, but in very good condition. The restricted areas didn't come into play. Fairways in good shape considering drought. The pace was OK. We finished in 4:45.

Didn't mind the course layout, but overall the course condition was a little rough. I played knowing they punched the greens only 1 week prior, but have to say I was annoyed by the condition of the bunkers. It is a link style course so there are many fairway bunkers. They were soaked with water and had terrible lies which made it very difficult to hit a good shot out of them. Green side bunkers not any better. Pace of play was very good, but recommend starting before 8am. Got a good deal on the green fee due to the conditions of the greens.

Everyone thinks they are out there playing a major. Takes forever to get a round in.

I love this course. Have played it a handful of times. Top 5 in the Bay Area for me. It's not a challenging course if you play to the right sides of the fairway. Angles here are a must with the challenging undulated greens, even though it's very open for the most part. The pace of play was average 4 1/2 hours. The greens were rolling very well, and everything else was just as good! I love this course and will be back plenty more times! I got a hot deal for $15. I was shocked

Nice sunny day with just a mild wind. Good pace of play for a Friday and overall course conditions were good.

I was paired with three nice guys. That really made the round. The ONLY issue I have is those stakes with green caps. I was told we could not cross the areas that are marked by those stakes. Those areas are supposed to be protected. That created a difficult situation as we can not retrieve our balls even when we can physically see them. The ironic thing was we see bulldozers and other construction equipments within those areas working. That seemed contradictory to what we were told.

This course condition is very good. The Staff are very friendliness. I like this course. I will come here again.

Friday afternoon golf never a bad idea, tee'd off at 4 PM. Got 18 holes in without any problems. Starter was nice enough to let my buddy and I jump out a little early. Really didn't run into anyone all day, there were a few players behind us but pace of play was excellent. I was very impressed with the green, great shape. Really tough course with the wind. Seemed like I was hitting Driver & 5i/6i on every hole. With that being said, we had a blast, I would definitely recommend it to anyone around the Oakland area

We played this for the first time. Some of our tees were hard to see landing zones. With more familiarity, we would have selected different clubs or direction of shots. All-in-all, it was enjoyable even though the wind made it more challenging. KEEP an eye out for the wildlife. We encountered a fox that looked a bit mangy and step towards us. I'm sure this was a rarity.
