good deal, but conditions average
Course seems to be going downhill every year. Why is there puddles of water on the course in summer time? If you want play close to winter conditions then play here. Its just a shadow of its former self.
Nice course if they had better marshal's
Pace of play is to slow every time I come to this course, I have played at different times and it is always slow. I won't be back anytime soon. I played here because its close to home however the marshal has no control on the course, I always get behind slow playing groups that could care less about people behind them, Sometime they hit 2 and three balls and when complained to marshal they did nothing about it. If you play here plan on playing 6 hr rounds.
Good layout, good greens
This is one of my favorite courses. Not only because the deal is good, but also the layout it plays... I heard it was designed by Johnny Miller. A few holes fairways are kind of broken, with a lot of birds poo, and occasionally loud private jet flying over your putting.. it sits next to Oakland Airport... other than this, the course is good. The green plays very true to my point of view. A couple holes are very challenging. I always like to come back here.

Fairways very poor , the par 3s no water on 3 of 4 holes plus the par 4 12th hole. The sand traps have no sand (hard pan)
The only saving grace is the putting greens are in good shape.
Nice public track
When I don't play my home course in SF I take a quick ride over the bay bridge and play Metro. I usually get a good rate on
Golfnow.com. My eight year old daughter also plays and they are junior golf friendly !!!!! The course is a nice track , greens roll well.
I don't care for the duck/ bird droppings that you will find..
I give it a solid 7 out of 10
fun course
This course is by Oakland Airport....my day was good...not
much wind.The course has alot of OB/water/traps...some fairways werent fair!dried out...and lots of goose do-do!But the greens were great...all fast.Pace of play was alittle slow...but
it was Sat.The people were nice...and my 4 some had fun joking around.
Great Open Links style layout
Good links style track. Greens always in good condition, Wind is always a factor, especially in club selection for all the par-3's.

Relatively new course, areas of the course require attention
Good value for local course
The course is well maintained and a good value for Oakland. Although the course is generally flat, there are enough hazzards and challenges to make it fun to play. As with other courses in this area, the local geese population is overgrown, and becoming an issue on some of the holes.
this course is good for high handicappers
Great Practice area. Fairway need a little more grass. to dry. ruff is difficult in some spots and other spot to dry and hard Greens were fast readable and speed was OK Bunkers need good sand. A great place to play a practice round
