About
Editor's Note: Course closed and redesigned as Cabot Citrus Farms.
The Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club is one of two championship golf courses at the club. Named after the numerous pine trees that cover the course especially along the fairways, it feels far removed from the Florida coasts. Tom Fazio designed the course and it is considered not only some of his best work, but one of the best courses in the state. It is a tight golf course that is notorious for its vast waste areas and bunkers. Although it has a modest length of 7,259 yards, there is plenty of length within the layout with many of the par 4s stretching past 400 yards. There are two small lakes that come into play. The fourth hole is one of the most well known, and most photographed, in the state. It is a par 5 with a treacherous waste area dominating the right side all the way to the green.

World Woods is #1 in the region !! Photo submitted by webbknight on 09/21/2012
Always a great experience!
Greens had just been sanded lightly preparing for the autumn season...overall course was in good shape. Its always a treat to play at World Woods!
,pine barren and rolling oaks
A must play. both courses are unique and an excellent value as well as a challenge
Great layout
The course was in good condition greens were fast and fairways were good. The snack bar was closed before 6:00 was supposed to stay open until 6:00.Other than that it was an enjoyable round
Great layout
The course was in great shape from the tee area to the fairway and the greens.
Great layout
Fairways and greens were in great condition. Fairways were slow due to heavy rain during the previous afternoon and evening. Greens were receptive and rolled true. Absolutely loved the par 5 14th hole. Highly recommend this course for it's quality, playability, and summer rates.
WOW !
Great course, I love it ! Drains incredibly well. All this rain, no effect except for a couple bunkers. Go play it.
Worth the ride
The course was great, in fantastic condition, with fast greens. This course is out in the middle of nowhere with no homes on the course, so it's just you and the peace and quiet. It takes me over an hour to get to the course, but it's well well worth it!!!
love this place!
I love world woods, although it beats me up. It is golf at its finest!
Play Pine Barrens and no where else!!
Played Pine Barrens with my sons. Outstanding experience ....... and it drizzled most of the round!!!! Amazing layout. Challenging makes you work for your score! That said, a totally fun layout. You will use many clubs. Course in great shape. One of the best courses I have ever played. I will be back very soon
Hot day for golf
Extremely hot and slow playing because of the foursome in front of us. They played some game which dragged the round out and made for a long day playing in heat in the upper 90’s. Greens were punched maybe 3 weeks ago so they were on the slow end of the spectrum and fuzzy. Other than the slow play from guys who should stay in the driving range and slow greens the course was in very nice condition.
Rain or Shine
Frequent flyer at this course - Love everything about it. This trip, the greens recently underwent aerification, but are healing nicely and the greens are rolling moderately fast. Only suggestion - sunscreen and rain gear seem to be a must during your 18 holes.
Awsome course
What a great layout at a great price! Greens had been punched so putting was slow and bumpy but that was the only flaw and why green fees were super cheap. Would definitely play again and recommend to friends
Interesting
Love the course. Number 14 appears to be an easy par five. However number 14 is very challenging. Love the course
Could be better
Greens were punched 5 days ago. Bunkers were rock hard and wet due to recent rains. Ground was pretty hard all over. I like the track and will be back.
Always A Great Place To Play!
The course was in great condition, though some holes were cart path only due to the frequent amount of rain. It's an enjoyable course for intermediate - advanced golfers, but may be overwhelming to those just starting out. Staff has always been accommodating and friendly, as they seem to genuinely enjoy working there. The driving range is great, and there is a large putting green. The only downside is their clubhouse could use a spruce of remodeling, but their food and drink selections are up to par. Great time whether you play well or not. It's worth a 90minute commute as well.
Best of the Best
World Woods is the finest golf course on the west coast of Florida .. I could write more but why ?
Gem in the woods
This is a very peaceful course with no houses and is in great condition with a great layout.
