Rolling Oaks is one of two championship courses at World Woods Golf Club. The layout offers something completely different from the renowned Pine Barrens course at the club, but it still offers the same amount of challenge and quality. The golf course is named after its landscape of rolling hills and forests of centuries old Oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Lush, rolling fairways lead to undulating greens that are protected by sharply defined, white sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The golf course has a traditional design but the dramatic elevation changes and picturesque landscape covered in azaleas, dogwoods, and magnolia trees really make it stand out. In addition to the two golf courses, World Woods also offers a nine-hole practice course and a circular, 20-acre driving range with target greens and practice bunkers.

This is me on one of the more difficult par 5's. If you play it and your a long ball, play it to the right fairway...You can make it...Lol.. Photo submitted by Robert5455343 on 11/16/2013

Good golf
Great rate and great course.
Pace of play
It would be nice if the people understood ready golf. Pace of play is killing golf. They also need to play the proper tees. There are no ladies tees they are called forward tees. When you hit the ball only 150. Yards why don't you move up . The idea of the game is to take the fewest strokes.
Rolling Oaks
Course is in great condition right now. Paired up with a couple of guys for a good time. Great course, definite play.
Lowered Expectations Will Help
If I could give World Woods two separate ratings they would be 5-Stars for the Golf Courses and the golf experience, and 1-star for the staff and the customer service.
I have been to World Woods on three occasions during my visits to my mother-in-law who lives in Palm Harbor - so it is a bit of a drive to Brooksville. I keep thinking that I will give the staff another shot just because both of the golf courses are worth putting up with some inconveniences in order to play - the courses are both ABSOLUTELY worth every penny. I just would not expect the attitude and level of service to be so poor at such a world-class golf facility. I have been blessed to play some of the finest courses in the US, UK, Canada and Mexico, and these guys and gals are right at the very bottom when it comes to customer service.
My experiences with each visit have been that the staff basically acts like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to spend your time and money with them. This may not be the case with the folks who are lucky enough to live close by and able to play there regularly, as I did see the staff pleasantly interacting with a few folks and appeared to know them fairly well - but if they don't recognize you as such... don't expect much and then you won't be disappointed.
The golf is still DEFINITELY worth putting up with some low-class, low quality customer service - food and beverage quality included.
My recommendation if you "ain't no local" would be to show up full, with some beverages stashed in your, go out and enjoy some really great golf and then get out of there ASAP!
Great value as usual!
One of the best courses in Florida and for $29 in the summer it's an amazing value. Both WW courses are always in great shape. Can't wait to get back!
Great course!
We made the hour drive to World Woods and played both Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks. I had read a lot of online reviews and most players recommended Pine Barrens as the better of the two courses, so we played it first. I will review that 18 hole layout for the Pine Barrens course.
Personally, I thought Rolling Oaks was the better course. It felt like a North Carolina/ Western PA course. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in pristine condition. Big, wide open fairways lead to a multitude of various approach shots. The greens themselves were very receptive and held numerous shots of ours from 180-200 yards out. The greens rolled true, and it was very easy to read the break. Outside of 3 feet, you won't find a straight putt anywhere on the course.
The fairways and greens are scattered with bunkers on most holes, and seem to be appropriately located to catch the wayward tee, and approach shots.
Overall, I thought the course was fantastic and very picture-esqe. Just a very beautiful, well laid out course. I'm not sure if I'll go back anytime in the near future, mostly because there are a ton of other good golf courses in the Tampa and Bradenton areas worth trying. But if you're looking for a course with natural elevation changes, as well as big, undulating greens, look no further than World Woods!
Primo course
Finally got to play at World Woods after hearing from so many of my friends that this is the number one facility to play in the Tampa area. Well I agree with them. Played Rolling Oaks from the senior tees and still found the course challenging. Although the greens had been aerated 2 weeks ago they were very playable. Looking forward to playing Pine Barrons the next time.
Best round
This was my best round in a golf course like that.
Great hidden gem
This course was in amazing condition from tee to green. The only bad thing were the bunkers were packed down by the recent rain but other than that very friendly from beginners to advanced players
Great!!
I played this course many times and have always had a great experience. It was a hot deal for 23.00 so playing here was a no brainer. However, even at double the price I'd been happy.
Wow...Impressive!
I can't say enough about the golf there! I loved everything about the place from the staff to the greens!! I am going back for sure! Worth the drive and the price...Besides the golf is fantastic!! Oh I said that already!
Worth the drive
Even for full price this golf course is worth every penny you give them and every gallon of gas to get there. You will be hard pressed to find a golf experience with as much bang for your buck. Thirty-six beautiful holes and enough warm up space for a whole tour. I'm taking every single person who visits me in Florida to world woods for a day guaranteed. Probably the first course that's made me happy from to to bottom since I moved here from Pennsylvania.
beautiful and scenic
This golf course is beautiful and If one didn't know otherwise, you would not know you were in Florida. Always in great shape and always a pleasure to play. Because we had what the staff called a "trade" t-time, they wouldn't let us check in early so we had to go into the proshop twice. Are they trying to discourage use of "hot deals"? Probably not, but it did make me feel a little unwanted. 2nd trip to the proshop was fine. The restrooms in the clubhouse were out of order and we had to use portapotties but hopefully that is temporary.
Rolling Oaks
Great course, putting drove me crazy but greens rolled true. Scenic and challenging fun to play.
The best
Amazing !!!!it world's woods!!!everything was perfect!!
One of the best courses in this part of Florida
The course was in excellent shape apart from a couple of greens that had bare patches. It is challenging, I played from the white tees, 6000yds, the shortest men's tee, anything that is off fairway is punished. It's a great layout, different challenge on each hole, water and lots of bunkers. The scenery/wildlife is amazing.
I have played Pines Barren, the other course here and enjoyed that but for me Rolling Oaks has the edge.
Both course are well worth the visit
fairways in great condition
greens are better than average for Florida this time of year
Great track nice greens
Had a nice time out. Played with 3 people I had not met prior. Friendly atmosphere. The course conditions where excellent.
Best bang for your buck
I have played many rounds here and I have never seen it in bad shape. I just played back to back rounds on both courses and they are in great shape. This is a must play. Definitely two of the best courses in the country
Its always good.
The World Woods courses are always in good shape. Tee to green is great. Greens roll good. They roll so good you have to account for the grain when judging speed. Speed is medium fast. Not too many hazards which is nice. Got it for $24 which is a steal. The #8 and #16 par 3's might be my two favorite par 3's in the area. Quality conditions, quality layout, medium difficulty. Must play. Restaurant closes at 6pm so be aware of that.
