Rolling Oaks is one of two championship courses at World Woods Golf Club. The layout offers something completely different from the renowned Pine Barrens course at the club, but it still offers the same amount of challenge and quality. The golf course is named after its landscape of rolling hills and forests of centuries old Oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Lush, rolling fairways lead to undulating greens that are protected by sharply defined, white sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The golf course has a traditional design but the dramatic elevation changes and picturesque landscape covered in azaleas, dogwoods, and magnolia trees really make it stand out. In addition to the two golf courses, World Woods also offers a nine-hole practice course and a circular, 20-acre driving range with target greens and practice bunkers.

This is me on one of the more difficult par 5's. If you play it and your a long ball, play it to the right fairway...You can make it...Lol.. Photo submitted by Robert5455343 on 11/16/2013

Course was excellent - pace was terrible
The course was absolutely gorgeous, the layout was awesome and the #7 or #8 par three was one of my favorite in Florida! It was extremely well maintained and I immediately understood how it was one of the best in the state. The pace on the other hand was terrible. The ranger was driving around and asking how it was, but couldn't seem to move it along- as far as I could tell, there were 2 groups waiting ahead of me, but eventually had to play putt putt on every green while waiting for the guys ahead of me to tee off. Average of 20 minutes after finishing each hole until I could tee off.
top quality golf
excellent layout and conditions, huge undulating greens which putted at a good fair speed (if they cut them to a really fast speed, good luck). Course and views were interesting, challenging without being punishing.
Fun to Play
For my game it was a challenging round....but fun. As it was my first time, I'm looking forward to playing again. I am used to outstanding greens and fairways and was somewhat disappointed in some of the greens and fairways...they were not in the best condition.
great course
very nice course, greens are huge and fast, not often do you see greens with as may tiers. would have been perfect if very slow group had been made to pick up pace or allowed others to play thru, they caused 4 groups behind them wait on almost every shot, never saw a ranger all day.
Good course for the price.
Got the tee time on hot deals for $30! Regularly $85. The only bad experience was the greens, they were disappointingly slow. Other than that a great day at a fabulous price!
WW Rolliing Oaks
Great course, wish I could play it twice a month, Conditions very good this time of the year almost pristine. Greens are great medium speed with subtle last foot break. Bunkers good condition, Struggled in for an 82, no birdies.
This is not the typical FL course. Not a palm on the course.
Great conditions, good layout and have played both courses before. Would recommend to any level golfer as a very good tract. The practice range and greens are also excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Great shape
Both Rolling Oaks and Pine Barrens are in excellent condition!
Dissapointing
First time playing Rolling Oaks, greens were like putting on shag carpet, terrible. After hearing so many good things about this place, I came away very disappointed. Too many other courses in the Tampa area that cost less and have better greens. The staff was not very friendly. Over priced. Wont be going back.
World Woods Courses
Rolling Oaks is a beautiful and challenging course in a spectacular setting. The scenery around the course is beautiful old Florida, and the practice facilities are the best around.
Not what I expected
I had told by some friends about World Woods. To be honest, the hype did not live up to the reality. The Staff in the clubhouse seemed as though they need a refresher course on customer service. Welcoming smiles and warm greetings were not availed. I did however find the gentleman who loaded my bag on the cart to be very pleasant. The starter was super helpful and very nice too. The guys in the club house, not so much. The course itself was in good shape with the exception of the greens. They were terrible. It was like putting on shag carpet. Slow and grainy. Any putt over 30 feet, I was playing my 7iron just to get the ball to the hole. I felt this place was way over priced and spent part of my day second guessing myself. Why had I picked this place over Foxhollow? I will not be going back to WW anytime soon. Major disappointment.
Great compliment to Pine Barrens
The cool thing about World Woods is that it has two terrific golf courses and they're really nothing like each other. For anyone who comes to the area, that means you could play Pine Barrens one day, stay overnight in a local hotel, and play Rolling Oaks the next day and have two very memorable golf experiences. Though I like Pine Barrens a little more because it's a little more unique, there would certainly be days I'd prefer the beautiful Rolling Oaks course with its more gentle features and aesthetics.
cart path only
We got our rounds on golf now and the staff was a little funny acting but polite . We hit range balls and putted for 30 min and was told cart path only Well im 65 and my friend is 68 so we tried to hit close to cart paths but after 14 holes we were both done . Beautiful layout and in good shape but never seen wet spots no where but on 15 I round could have been a lot better , no much feelings for seniors
Great course but wet today!
This is a great course with good, challenging holes and terrain. Due to heavy rains last night the course had some wet spots but it usually dries up after a full day. It plays nicely, has a wide variety of difficulties and is just a pleasure to play. It gets crowded during the Snowbird season yet we generally are always able to find a reasonable tee time. It's sister course is also a good course with a different character.
Excellent course
As always, course in excellent shape. Great layout, fairways in wonderful, shape, greens have a lot of undulation but very fair.
Great course
The best course in the area. Very quiet. No houses around, therefore, little or no disturbing noises. Rolling hills makes it different from Tampa and South Florida courses. Come and play, you will enjoy it.
W.W. Rolling Oaks
Great course layout. Greens were on the quick side today and rolled fine. No brainer play if you have the chance.
paired up with pine barens, best for the $ in all of FL
you just can't say enough for both these courses in B-ville. totally different style from the barrens, this is more rolling hills like augusta, complete with big trees and azaleas and challenging elevation changes.
so many great holes, but i'll mention the signature par 3 #8, one of the prettiest you'll play - downhill across a creek and pond to a deep green (4 club difference depending on pin placement).
stay the hole day and play 36, then spend the nite and do it again! stay and play packages cannot be matched anywhere else in all of FL, and considering the two courses are ranked top 10 in FL, you just can't find a better place to play
slow play
Please have a ranger who will enforce steady play. Your cart girl doesn't know when to catch golfers to sell items.
