Rolling Oaks is one of two championship courses at World Woods Golf Club. The layout offers something completely different from the renowned Pine Barrens course at the club, but it still offers the same amount of challenge and quality. The golf course is named after its landscape of rolling hills and forests of centuries old Oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Lush, rolling fairways lead to undulating greens that are protected by sharply defined, white sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The golf course has a traditional design but the dramatic elevation changes and picturesque landscape covered in azaleas, dogwoods, and magnolia trees really make it stand out. In addition to the two golf courses, World Woods also offers a nine-hole practice course and a circular, 20-acre driving range with target greens and practice bunkers.

This is me on one of the more difficult par 5's. If you play it and your a long ball, play it to the right fairway...You can make it...Lol.. Photo submitted by Robert5455343 on 11/16/2013

Gorgeous
It's beautiful course and wonderful I wish you can pray here every day
Great course
Great course in excellent condition.
From # 7 on play was backed up, waited every shot, 2 groups waiting on many tees. Sometimes people play on a course like this much better than their normal course and they go into slow motion. They take twice as long as normal. Sure they want their money's worth but keep playing. Everyone wants to enjoy their golf- keep moving! Ranger was out but no effort seen to improve pace- just out there riding around.
Nice course
This is a well maintained course. The traps are difficult due to placement and depth. Very pleasant landscape. Wide fairways make up for the hazards. I'm not a great golfer but can appreciate a very nice course.
One of my favorites
I try to play both 18-hole courses at World Woods whenever I'm here in the Tampa area. Rolling Oaks is more traditional, with regular sand bunkers rather than the expanses of waste area on Pine Barrens. The fairways are pretty wide and in good condition, the greens are generally very big with some larger undulations and there are some of the typical Tom Fazio optical illusions where what appears to be a greenside bunker from the fairway is actually some distance in front of the green. I prefer to walk (and it's a great walking course, with reasonable green-to-tee distances due to the fact that there are no houses on the course), but the only rakes provided are on the golf carts, so if you walk and don't get paired up with rider(s) you won't be able to rake any sand you get into. Rolling Oaks has a lot of good holes and always provides a fun round.
Very Augusta Like!
Really enjoyed this course with the oak trees and traditional bunkers. I would play this one again anytime.
play this course
great fairways great greens, a pleasure to play. try the three hole warm up course after the driving range . the large putting area on the side of the hill is unique also.
If you can play it for under $65.00 You get the best course around for the money..
World Woods.. One of the Best courses around for the money.. Always.. you always leave satisfies in some way either with your round, the staff or the course and the environment. I have played both courses and I like Barrens, but not as much as Oaks. It's a tough course but fair meaning course knowledge helps but there are not many hidden issues out there. It's what you see and the greens are challenging with the quadrant layout to them. Know your pin positions and play what you see. From Box to Green it's a challenge. And the practice areas are always in shape and the staff takes care of your needs.. Go play it and come away with your round wanting to do it again. We always do.
Wet and winter conditions
I seen greens under repairs. This is a championship golf course . well worth the visit .
oasis in the woods
misty rain played pine barron it was drier. the course was in extremely great shape in spite of the misty rain that cleared up on 10. had a large time as always. been there several times over the years and will be back again and again
A must play
Played the course with two golfers who played the course many times. They had nothing but good things to say about the course. I have to agree! It's actually strange to play a course in Florida with no residents on the property. Wait to you see 18. It's an uphill Z.
Rolling Oaks GC
Had the pleasure to play this course again through Golfnow and was paired up with some good players. Really enjoy this course with the friendly layout and great conditions from tee to green. Played the green tee's around 6400 yds that requires some good drives to find the greens and score well. Only knock on the course is the green speed which is on the slow side and difficult to adjust to. Tendency is to leave the 10 footers on in just short since the ball just doesn't roll out. Great track!
The Best. Period.
Beautiful place with 2 amazing courses. Played everywhere but this is the best. Pine Barrens would be my top course in central Florida and Rolling Oaks is #2. PB is tougher and RO is more fun and relaxing.
Very Good Golf Course!
Rolling Oaks is a fun, beautiful course to play. While Pine Barrens gets higher ratings, the back 9 on Rolling Oaks is absolutely beautiful, with the rolling hills and huge oak trees. We played the white tees which made it much easier. From the gold or black tees, this course can be more than a hand full. The greens are undulating but in excellent condition. This is a wonderful course and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy playing very good courses.
In the Forest
Wide fairways, extremely difficult greens. Good value for money
this course has considerable reputation
Because of the reputation drove 70 miles to play with a friend. Course was very dry and brown patches and very little grass.Being high handicapper this made my shots worse than average. Greens were fair but inconsistent. Price was good because of golfnow.Layout is nice but nothing spectacular.
just a good day on a great course.
This course is so fair and the conditions were excellent, thinking of joining their membership program.. World Woods staff are tops in my opinion.
This course is in great condition
Enjoyed our game , course is challenging but fair to all levels
Enjoyed the golf course
excellent condition
good greens
good fairways
great layout
Great layout
Disappointed in the greens but course needs maintaining and work has to be done. Fantastic course design good fairways and a great test of golf.
Great course, slow greens.
Only issue we had with the course was the speed of the greens. The texture was "shaggy". Very hard to get putts to the hole and to keep on line. Rest of the course was in fantastic condition.
