Rolling Oaks is one of two championship courses at World Woods Golf Club. The layout offers something completely different from the renowned Pine Barrens course at the club, but it still offers the same amount of challenge and quality. The golf course is named after its landscape of rolling hills and forests of centuries old Oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Lush, rolling fairways lead to undulating greens that are protected by sharply defined, white sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The golf course has a traditional design but the dramatic elevation changes and picturesque landscape covered in azaleas, dogwoods, and magnolia trees really make it stand out. In addition to the two golf courses, World Woods also offers a nine-hole practice course and a circular, 20-acre driving range with target greens and practice bunkers.

This is me on one of the more difficult par 5's. If you play it and your a long ball, play it to the right fairway...You can make it...Lol.. Photo submitted by Robert5455343 on 11/16/2013

Beautiful, Accessible, and a Great Golf Experience
World Woods (Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks) is consistently ranked as a top 100 course in the U. S. On Rolling Oaks, the golfer gets scenic views, some elevation changes, and large, fast greens. Book on Golfnow to obtain great value. Thank goodness this is a great public course with a private course experience.
Great course
Have played many times, will continue going there. Golf now great price!!!!
A fine complement to Pine Barrens
World Woods is certainly one of Florida's most impressive golf facilities when you consider the enormous driving range and practice areas to go with two Tom Fazio designs. Though side-by-side, Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks aren't all that similar. Rolling Oaks is a more timeless, parkland course with gorgeous mossy oaks peppered throughout. Those who may be intimidated by the massive waste areas and visual pitfalls of Pine Barrens will find Rolling Oaks is a bit more mellow and pleasant. It may not warrant the Top 100 acclaim of its neighbor but if you're headed this far north from Tampa, you may as well make a full day and play both, right?
Still a great track
Had not played here in a few years but will not take that long away again. Great facility, and great golf.
One of the best!
I have always heard how great World Woods was but never got out to actually play. When I finally did, the expectations were set very high and World Woods delivered. Friendly stuff, course is in fantastic shape, great layout... everything you want in a golf course! Will be back!
Worth the hour trip
I have always seen this course on Golfnow and seen its top 100 rankings of public courses. I finally made the trek up from my yearly visit to Brandon. The course did not disappoint and it is now on my regular circuit of courses.
very unique and special
went out there with old friends that are members of palma ceia and we used to play the course....... love the visual and the atmosphere ...... was a ww card holder for 2 years but alone is boring.......... also went another time with two teenagers and a father that were tennis players for the practice holes to enjoy the different view and it was perfect....... I would like to buy the larger buckets of balls but one size........ yet I saw larger buckets being used........ next time I will ask............. love the place............
Greens Better Than Pine Barrens
Since they put in the new Champions Bermuda greens, they are much better than the Pine Barrens. No need for the overseed that tthey do on the PB. Hopefully they will someday upgrade the greens on the PB to the new Champions Bermuda. Course was in great shape, fairways were plush. Greens rolling about 10 and smooth. This place is golf heaven for me. For $42 you cannot beat it. Only complaint was the 50 degree weather, yeah I know, quit complaining.
Not your typical Florida course
As somebody who lives in the northeast, this course reminds me of the courses near the Jersey shore, except the Spanish moss that makes this place look eerie at times, but fun nevertheless. From the par-3 8th hole onwards, this course really starts to show its beauty and teeth.
Quite impressed with the expansive practice facilities.
Since I was also playing Pine Barrens on the same day, they were able to move my tee time and pair me up with another twosome.
Could Not Believe It!!
Could not wait to play this course rated as one of the top Florida Golf Courses. The greens were the slowest that I have experienced, even slower than the regular muni. I could not get a putt of over 30 feet top the hole. Layout was nice but I must have caught them at a bad time as the course was not worth making the 2 hour drive.
Couldn't ask for anything more
Everything was as advertised. World Woods is a world class facility. The course was in beautiful shape and the greens were in excellent condition. Rolling Oaks is a real challenging course, but not too hard for the weekend golfer.
perfect
Still one of the top10 in the tampa area. If you come to tampa this is the place that will impress. Their lack of a nice club house is made up by pristine course conditions
Extremely well maintained course. Lots of elevation changes, undulating fast greens.
Fairways are wide off the tee. Very scenic course, especially the par 3's. Some very deep green side bunkers. Variety of long and short holes.
If possible, play with someone who knows the course as there are lots of places where course knowledge is helpful.
Great practice facilities. Comparing the slopes from other courses, the slopes here should be higher.
Top of the line course
They can't get any better than this. We have NEVER played here before but we were paired with a great couple from Montreal, they showed us the ins & outs. WOW it exceeded our expectations!!
Very difficult to read the greens, very challenging!!!
Challenging but fair.
Great layout. Lots of variety and elevation changes. Greens were inconsistent for speed but overall the experience was as good as the last time.
More playable than Pine Barrens...some picturesque par 3s
Only problem I had was as a single I showed up early for my tee time and altho there were enumerable spots open for me to join 2-somes and 3-somes before my reserved time the "gatekeepers" in the clubhouse wouldn't allow it. In playing on courses in states all over the country that's a first!
Not the most customer friendly service.
Note: The Golf Now policy statement on all reservations states that as a single the course reserves the right to alter tee times to put you with another group if it fits...guess it doesn't work in the reverse! Very disappointing...I mean, why not?
Nice and challenging course, terrible at spreading out tee times
I am from Columbus, Ohio and visit my parents down in Inverness approx 4 times a year. Before arriving I thought I set a tee time for Tuesday November 12th, however, when I got to the pro shop they informed me that my reservation was for the 15th. My mistake...The guys at the pro shop were very friendly and worked us in due to it being my last day in Florida and really wanting to play that course. I was really dissappointed at the 6 groups waiting on the 1st tee box to go off. It took us nearly 6 hours to play 18 hours. I think they could do a better job spreading out tee times. However they only had one course open so I can see where they want to get all they can. The course was absolutely incredible. Where I am from we dont have "DRA's" which is basically a sand trap that is used for drainage to my understanding? Every single hole has these on it, some making the course that much more difficult to play. Loved it!!! I would definately recommend this course if you are in the area though
Wide fairways but very demanding course
I enjoyed every hole on the course. The greens were perfect and rolled at a great speed. Very well maintained layout and beautiful site. I will play here many more times!
Course was great!
Guys at counter must have been having a bad day! Friendliness and customer courtesy were certainly lacking!
Great course! Staff needs some work.
The course is perfect. I went there for golf so it seems silly that I am going to mention this but the staff acted as if they were inconvenienced by my presence. Perhaps I don't deserve the same courtesy that someone during season might garner. The girl at the counter had a 3 minute conversation before even looking at me. Then she didn't ask if I wanted range balls. I drove all the way to the range before I realized I needed to buy them from her. Both halfway girls barely stopped chewing their lunch while grumbling if I wanted anything. Cart boy however was polite and friendly. You would think that tipped staff would put in a little more effort. I'll of course be back because the courses are perfect. I'll just won't expect the service to equal the golf.
