Rolling Oaks is one of two championship courses at World Woods Golf Club. The layout offers something completely different from the renowned Pine Barrens course at the club, but it still offers the same amount of challenge and quality. The golf course is named after its landscape of rolling hills and forests of centuries old Oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Lush, rolling fairways lead to undulating greens that are protected by sharply defined, white sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The golf course has a traditional design but the dramatic elevation changes and picturesque landscape covered in azaleas, dogwoods, and magnolia trees really make it stand out. In addition to the two golf courses, World Woods also offers a nine-hole practice course and a circular, 20-acre driving range with target greens and practice bunkers.

This is me on one of the more difficult par 5's. If you play it and your a long ball, play it to the right fairway...You can make it...Lol.. Photo submitted by Robert5455343 on 11/16/2013

Excellent facility
Good course, along with the Pine Barrens this site is a superb place to play in this area. An enjoyable round hosted by good staff.
Outstanding
I only discovered World Woods last year, and I must say I'm disappointed. - That I didn't find it 20 years ago when I first started coming to Florida. Both courses are superb and are not to be missed if your are in the area. Well worth my 40 mile drive to get there.

Lots of bunkers
This is the best maintained course I have played in and around the Tampa area, not a weed in sight on the fairways. There is not much water on the course but the bunkers make the challenge. It was very busy and according to the staff I spoke to, it is nearly always busy so don't expect a fast round. I would definitely play this course again, if I could book through Golf Now as it is really good value.
Bathrooms everywhere!
Why, because the best part about this place, is there are no houses on either course. It is there to play golf, not increase someones property value. Out of the two courses Rolling Oaks, after redoing its greens a couple years ago, is now probably my favorite. Big hitters paradise, not much ob. Greens are consistent and run 9-11 on average.
Well worth the drive
I got to play the Pine Barrens course and it was immaculate. Very nice staff and nice facilities but the clubhouse isn't what you would expect from a world class course. Its about a hour and twenty minute drive from north Tampa and in the middle of no where but they take great care of the course and its fun. As a side note, there is only one hole on pine barrens with water but there are plenty of huge sand traps. The rolling hills make it seem like it isn't a Florida course. Excellent course, you won't regret going.
Great course - worth the drive!
I played the Rolling Oaks course on March 23rd having played the Pine Barrens course last year. Both courses are wonderful and worth the drive from either Orlando or Tampa (about an hour each way). They are both Tom Fazio designs and he does not disappoint - and really socks it to you with bunkers! The Rolling Oaks course is tighter on the back nine with taller more mature oak trees - the front is more open and has more of a field effect. However, the entire course is well-maintained, the greens are fast but not too punishing. I played from the forward tees and found the round challenging yet enjoyable - coupled with the lovely surroundings and beautiful day, it was great!
Great Course but Over Priced
Love the course hate the rates. This is a 50.00 a round course not 100.00.
Rolling Oaks is in immaculate condition!
The faiways were like carpet and the greens were spotless, fast and true. Impeccable condition.
Great golf course, preferred to Pine Barrens course
Terrific golf course at a great venue. World Woods has one of the best practice areas anywhere. Great range, practice holes, short game course and all at reasonable prices. The Rolling Oaks golf course is as nice as it gets. Friendly for all handicap levels if you play from the right tees. Very scenic. Greens a bit on the slow side around 8.5-9 Stimp.
Course in great condition, beautiful layout, no houses or parallel fairways,.
Have played both courses and this is my favorite. Beautiful trees, challenging for all level of golf courses, excellent condition of tees, fairways, and greens. Expensive for Florida golf but worth it.
Beautiful!
I have played both Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks several times and they are 2 of my favorite. Rolling Oaks is a little more user friendly but is still challenging and offers beautiful, open visuals hole after hole. The par 3 8th is one of the prettiest holes I've played!
Great value on twilight tee times!
Well maintained. Nice greens. Good length.
A nice warmup round course prior to taking on big sister course Pine Barrens. Play the tee boxes one longer in distance than you are accustomed to playing to increase the challenge and to help prepare for your round on Pine Barrens.
Always great to play.....either course.
Even if my game isn't 100 % I always have fun playing at World of Woods. What they lack in clubhouse they make up for in the quality of their playing facilities. Between the giant driving range, the multiple putting greens and the 9 hole warm up course a fancy clubhouse isn't needed. I played Rolling Oaks this time out and had a great time. Tee boxes were perfect, fairways excellant, the greens were beautiful. Even the sand traps were well maintained. (I should know I spent a lot more time there then I should have) Go play this course.......
Holes are different
Could have seen the beverage cart nore. Corse was in good shape. People were freandly.
Beautiful Course
Not a house in sight. Just rolling hills, pine and oak forest and wildlife. Fairways wide and lush. Maintained like a football field. Greens fast and perfect. Recommend playing back a set of tees, this one is so easy. One reachable Par 4. Deep sand bunkers, but fewer than Pine Barrens. This is the easier of the two.
Course was in great shape and pace of play was quick.
Course was nice and tidy. Great greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Great course!
World Woods is fantastic - Rolling Oaks Greens are fast and true!
Used a hot time for dirt cheap and could not be more pleased. As always the range and practice facilities at WW are nearly unrivaled. Rolling Oaks was in fantastic condition, the greens especially were fast and true. Got around in less than 3 hours cause there was hardly a soul on the course. Staff is generally friendly but it did seem they weren't very interested in the GN hot time customers...oh well.
Never a poor choice
World Woods is an awesome course that we sometimes forget how lucky we are to live so close to it. Locals are truly spoiled by its proximity. From conditioning to value, it is always a pleasure to play. Dont forget to look around and admire the beauty of it while it kicks your butt!!
