Rolling Oaks is one of two championship courses at World Woods Golf Club. The layout offers something completely different from the renowned Pine Barrens course at the club, but it still offers the same amount of challenge and quality. The golf course is named after its landscape of rolling hills and forests of centuries old Oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Lush, rolling fairways lead to undulating greens that are protected by sharply defined, white sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The golf course has a traditional design but the dramatic elevation changes and picturesque landscape covered in azaleas, dogwoods, and magnolia trees really make it stand out. In addition to the two golf courses, World Woods also offers a nine-hole practice course and a circular, 20-acre driving range with target greens and practice bunkers.

This is me on one of the more difficult par 5's. If you play it and your a long ball, play it to the right fairway...You can make it...Lol.. Photo submitted by Robert5455343 on 11/16/2013

great course, perfect condition
After two years (after the flood) we came back and played with two foursomes 18 holes. Every one was enthusiast about the course and the way its been taken care of!
great layout
Played Rolling Oaks & Pine Barrens about 6 yrs ago and had forgotten just how good these layouts are. I gave Rolling Oaks only a 4 star because some of the tee boxes were sparse of grass...other than that - fantastic golf course!
It will NOT be another 6 yrs before I get back there! May not even be 6 weeks.
If I have a "gripe" its that the play was very slow. The first time I played there the rangers were very forthright about the time and keeping up the pace of play. This time, although I saw Rangers several times, the group ahead of me fell behind by 2 holes or more and never considered allowing a play through.
Overall, this has to be one of the best GolfNow values in America, though.
Played Pine Barrens too, and it is absolutely top tier! Course condition was good, and the layout is second to none. Very unique for Florida, and very challenging. You can't do any better by scheduling these 2 courses....And not a house in sight - beautiful! Pine Barrens is every bit of 5 star rating!
overbooked
great course, knew the greens had been just aerated , they were still puttable.
starter was very helpful.
I have what has become the usual complaint, sloooooooow play!
Courses need to begin enforcing the clock and the tee off positions relative to handicaps, or allow more time between each tee time.
we played for 4 hours and were only able to finish 13 holes.
it would have been at least another hour to finish.
waiting 5-10 minutes for every shot is no fun for anyone.
I won't be playing here again, even though it is one of the best courses around.
Usually in Florida In the summer you can play a round in 3 hours. Which is how it should be!
Beautiful terrain and outstanding (no pun intended) live oak trees.
This is an outstanding course and an amazing value with GolfNow.
My new favorite course.
WOW!!! Great course ! Played horrible and still had fun. It's very picturesque. Worth the drive. Lots of room, but still challenging.
Fantastic course, great condition - highly recommend to everyone
Rolling Oaks course is a great course and was in fantastic condition. Greens are quite large and a real challenge to putt if not below the hole. Course played longer than the yardage indicated - must fly ball all the way to green since could not get roll onto greens like many courses. Better bring your A-game with you!!!
Amazing layout and pristine condition.
Amazing layout and pristine condition. Even in the rain this course was an absolute joy to play.
solid round of golf w/ great elevation changes for central florida.
one of the best courses in the area...wish it was closer to tampa. greens could've been a bit faster and no rakes around the bunkers gets a bit annoying. alternatively, i could stay out of the sand.
Super in every way
what a great experence, I can't believe what great shape thas course was in. I look forward to my next visit to world woods. I would prefer that the greens be a little faster . other than that, i give the course an A+
Absolutley beautiful golf course and first class facilities
Rolling Oaks is a really good test from the tips however it is a fair test as well. The greens and fairways were perfect.
Doesn't get much better
Spectacularly beautiful, well taken care of, plenty of variety and challenging. Pace of play was excellent. I'll certainly be back.
A great facility well worth the drive
I've played both courses at World Woods and find both courses very well maintained, the holes have very interesting with challenges built into each one. The forced carries are reasonable and limited and there are always good landing areas off the tees. The greens were the best I've sen in Florida, running fast and true.
The pace of play was great and the practice facilities very extensive and inviting.
Great golf course!
Really well maintained, several tee box options, nice to play a Florida course with no houses lining the fairways.
To bad the staff doesn't match up with the course
I have reviewed World Woods before on the Pine Barons side of the course and i wrote nothing but awesome things about it and said it was my favorite course, well i still agree with that as well as saying Rolling Oaks is a amazing and beautiful course, however the staff experience i had was nothing short of horrific , first we had two maintenance workers who were trimming the edges of the bunkers on holes two thru five were rude and had no golf educate what so ever, they never acknowledged we were even playing golf much less got out of the way or stopped trimming so we could hit and when they weren't trimming they were laughing and joking around very loudly both while we were trying to hit from the tee box , second fairway shots and putting and wouldn't even look up at us to see us with our arms up trying to get them to stop, called the club house to get a ranger out but didn't see him till we were on the sixth hole and pass them ( to little to late ) then we had to follow a group of four that wouldn't let us play threw ( we were a twosome and play steady and quick ) which i also had to eventually call the clubhouse again when the foursome turned into a group of five that went on for the entire back nine the ranger finely showed up on fifteen only to say something to them and drove off only for the group to pick up one more player to make it a group of six !! Yes i said a group of six , i called the clubhouse house two more times and finally gave up on eighteen and never finished the round, went to the clubhouse to express my disappointment of the round and this is where it got even worse, the first words out of the managers mouth was and i quote ( after he asked our cart number ) you guys booked your round on GOLFNOW so there's nothing i can do for you because we don't make any money off of there bookings you will have to complain to them and after repeatedly telling him that i didn't come in there to ask for anything for free nor a free round that i was on vacation and not only was i from another state ( Maryland ) but drove over a hour and a half to play this amazing course and had nothing short of a horrific day not because of the course but the complete lack of professionalism and golf educate that i would have a hard time coming back or even recommending this club to anyone else he continued to use the Golfnow excuse like i wasn't worthy of complaining because i didn't pay the full price for my round and booked thru Golfnow and how they didn't make any money from there bookings, UNBELIEVABLE !!!!! Never in my life have i been made to feel like i was nothing because i didn't pay full price for something and booked online for my round, ( WHY SHOULD THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS ) !!! I was always taught that golf was held to the highest of standards but thats not the experience i received at World Woods golf course in Brooksville Florida.
World Woods is the finest course on the West Coast!
Perfect tee boxes, Perfect fairways, Perfect Greens....The course is in excellent condition!
Incredible golf course..must play
Tees, fairways and the greens were perfect. Be condition I have ever seen the course...
Best Courses in this area!
World Woods has 36 Championship golf holes. HUGE putting and chipping green. 3 practice holes and a 9 hole par 3 course. The courses are set out in the woods so there are no housing developements. Few side by side fairways. Rolling hills and elevated tee boxes. Plenty of sand and a few lakes. Something for everyone!!!
Doesn't get much better than this!
These courses at World Woods are so pristine for a public course that it is unbelievable more people don't play here! The price off of Golfnow.com was great!!
Great course, lousy environment
The golf course at World Woods are both fabulous and in exceptional condition. You can't go wrong with either course, but I prefer Rolling Oaks, which was designed to emulate Augusta National ... large, undulating greens, a lot of bunkers, wide fairways. Pine Barrens was designed to emulate Pine Valley ... smaller greens, tighter driving areas, no bunkers (all are waste areas).
The Staff at World Woods is atrocious, the place is always disorganized and "service" is not a word they have ever heard of. Expect atrocious service in the Snack Bar ("Restaurant"?) ... surly, slow service in the Pro Shop and Cart Attendants who will ignore you, unless you're waiving a $20 in their face. Most of the Starters are pretty good guys, the Rangers are a mixed bag.
It's unfortunate, because the courses are so great. I'm guessing the absentee ownership probably doesn't have a clue how this place really presents itself to customers ... I'm sure he wouldn't like it.
This is my 10th time being at World Woods in the last 2 years, so my opinions are not based on an isolated incident, but an atmosphere that's prevalent.
