Cypress Point Country Club
About
Cypress Point Country Club is conveniently located within minutes of the Norfolk International Airport and the Virginia Beach Town Center. Despite its accessibility, the golf course feels peacefully isolated, making it a great choice for golfers who are looking for the convenience of a city course with the pace and beauty of the countryside. It's a layout that is as challenging as it is scenic with strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and fairways. The occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course will challenge players of all skill levels but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. Beginners will still be able to enjoy a round at Cypress Point Country Club. Besides the course, the club is also popular for its practice facility, which has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Plays longer than it looks
Course does not look intimidating but the par 4s are longer than you think. Must be in fairway to get roll out. Undulating rough. Elevation of tees and wind do require adjustment. Cart paths and proximity to homes demands well directed shot off tee. One concern, Groundsman tend not to extend usual courtesy to player in the fairway or greens by stopping machinery.
Great Shape
CYPT has always been one of my favorite courses. The course is well taken care of and it's showing. Plush fairways and tight greens, very nice for a public course. It's the best I've seen it.
Its worth the ride
We play Cypress Point often and have never had an unpleasent round. The class of people there well informed about golf etiquette. The course is in wonderful shape this year. The greens are fantastic and true.
Our tee time was at 10:08 and finished at 2:00 Pm , We meet a nice couple to play with in the future.
Definately worth the money
This is a nice course for the money. You could spend $80-$100 for a course like this in other areas. The fairways were plush and the greens held very well. I would recommend playing this course if you are in the area.
My new Home Course
What surprise! I always though this was a members only course until I notice it on GolfNow and decide to give it a shot. Everything about this course was amazing, even the cart & drink shack girls (Best in the Area). There's houses on amost every hole but the course it's pretty wide and forgiving which allows you to have fun and challenge you. I played every course in the area and I'll put this one in my top 3 in the area for the price, great job grounds crew. I can't wait to play here again and I'll be a member by next summer!
Great Track
Hadn't played in over four years because price was to steep for my budget. I'll be back soon.
Wonderful Surprise`
I had never played Cypress Point before. Upon entering the course, I knew we were in for a great day. The course looked beautiful as did the club house. Everyone inside was helpful and we got on the course with in 10 minutes of arrival. Every hole was manicured wonderfully. As it was our first time, we had no problems following the layout of the course. We called from the 8th tee to order sandwiches for lunch and were able to retrieve them and go on to the 10th hole. I hope to play it again in the near future.
Good Value
Course was in good shape for August. Course is very fair. Bunkers need some work.
Nice course but member centric
This was my first time playing this course. It started out as a great experience until we got stuck behind a 5-some. Luckily the marshal let us tee off before a 6-some. The pace of play suffered because of these large groups. Overall a great course and I would recommend it to others just be mindful of the member privileges.
Nice track
Played 27 holes here - first day only 9 because they were working on back nine greens. Came back three days later and played 18. Course in very good shape in spite of lots of rain earlier in the week. Back 9 an excellent test, particularly 16 and 17. Very good public course experience.
First time and won't be the last
It was our first time playing this course and we will definitely be playing there again. The course was in excellent condition. There were challenging holes especially 16 and 17. 16 has a very narrow opening onto a small landing area that then turns very sharply right to a well protected green. 17 is like an island green. Very short over a water hazard. The pin placement was in a narrow section in the front of the green. There was a young course employee on the 18th hole who cleaned all of our club heads while we were putting. Nice touch.
Great course at a great value
Course was in excellent condition. Greens and fairways lush and well maintained. would definitely go back and play again.
Very nice course.
I have lived in Virginia beach for 4 years now and for some reason never played here. I wish I had. It's a very nice place and I love the fact that they have the extra par five. Very well manicured greens that were nice to putt. I didn't really visit the clubhouse other than to pay quickly before playing.
One of the Best in Hampton Roads
I rarely get out to Cypress Point because unless you find a deal on golfnow the rates are a little steep. That said, if you can make it out here you definitely should. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape and this course is extremely playable. The layout is tricky without a ton of trouble which makes for a fun round. The holes on the back nine are some of the most interesting in hampton roads with elevation changes, risk/reward driving holes and some beautiful par 3s.
My only slight issue was several tee boxes had the grass gone from the blues which combined the blues and whites on a few holes. I'm sure that is just some temporary maintenance and didn't result in any real issues.
Very enjoyable course!
Our group had a great time and enjoyed the customer service at the facility! The greens were a little slow due to recent rain activity, but overall the course conditions were great!
The price was great because of golfnow.
I enjoy this course because it drains very well after storms and rarely do you have to play cart path only.
GREAT COURSE
I play this course quite often and it is always in excellent condition. The tee boxes and greens are always in great shape. It is a somewhat challenging course with 5 par fives and 5 par threes. And for the price you cant beat the quality. The management is is always courteous and professional. You will definitely enjoy your round. (Also a good tip) watch out for hole 16. Play a long iron or a short wood off this hole or you could find yourself in the woods on the left or the lake on the right.
Nice day out
Well kept course with challenging finish holes. Do not play here often and enjoy the round each time we do.
Great course
Course in great shape and enjoyed . Course drains well, we had huge thunderstorm two days before play.
Nice course, I'll be back for another round.
