About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Challenging Confidence Builder
Extraordinarily well maintained course, well managed and staffed. I was a single and placed with a great group of guys. We encountered some gusty winds that I am unaccustomed to playing, yet we still managed to do well. The hazards were well placed and required accuracy or penalty. I had a very good time. Average golfers ( such as I) will enjoy this course!

Favorite course in Ocala
This course is always in perfect condition with nice staff. They have a good variety of clubs in the pro shop. my favorite part of the coarse is the fact that they paint the dirt above the cups white!

I had never played Candler Hills before but I was really looking forward to it because of all the great reviews. And it
did not disappoint. Candler Hills is the complete package. The layout is lots of fun. I found only a couple of bare spots on the entire course and they were in the rough. The greens are the best I've played in Central FL and I tend to play high end courses. The fairways and tees are in great shape. As great as the course was, the highlight for me was the terrific young man I got to play with. An Army/Afghanistan veteran we got along great. I'm a Vietnam vet with a vision problem from my exposure to agent orange, who cant play alone any more. Dan knew where my ball was at all times. He raked my traps and fixed every ball mark. And I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his thoughts on swing mechanics. As a twosome, we finished the round in just over three hours. Can't wait to get back to Candler Hills.

Greens rolled slow but true and in great shape
No water on course but watch out for the 80 bunkers
I do not have one complaint about this course, the tee boxes, fairways, sand traps and greens were in excellent shape.I’m a picker and the ball sits up nice in the fairways.when I play this course I feel like I’m playing back up north.. I can only think of four other courses in the area that don’t charge you your first born to play with these same conditions. It’s a must to play if you haven’t played it. Grip and Rip

Best course, condition wise, tee to green that I’ve played in the last 6 months (and I’ve played most in a 40 mile radius of Ocala)!

Course was in great shape all around. 82 bunkers well keep you honest. Friendly staff.
Excellent course
Candler hills is always in great shape condition wise and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I truly believe this is the best golf course in Ocala.
