About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Excellent as always. Wish I could play this course EVERYDAY
Great track!
Great layout and greens. Friendly staff. Because of the volume of players pace of play can be 4 hours +.
Chilly, windy November Saturday
Really love the course (one of my favorites). The weather was terrible and we had to wait every hole on the threesome ahead of us. Luckily got our 18 in just before dark. We will return for a “do over”.
Nice track always in excellent condition
Love playing the course and grab every chance we get, but since rates have gone up, it’s a stretch for our budget.
Absolutely beautiful!
Course was pristine. Interesting layout staff was incredibly friendly. Had a brand new Srixon mens rental set that was incredible. Really could not ask for a better experience!
Lots of sand
Love this course. Very challenging. I am a senior and I got to play the white and red tees as marked on the card which Makes it much more enjoyable for the seniors. Can’t wait to play the course again.
Best course
This is the best course in Ocala, it's ALWAYS in excellent condition and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The layout is awesome as well.
Expected more
Great day weather-wise. I was paired up with some great people. T'd off on time. I paid $39 through tee-off.com. Well worth it. Not sure I'd want to pay above $45 on a weekday. After hearing all the hype; I really liked the course, but was not wowed. I enjoy playing well manicured courses, and this was for sure that. I'm considering membership here. Still might, but will scrutinize the decision more closely. I'm new to the area. Just trying to play a new course everyday. Conditions wise, Candler is the best by far. But I have played a couple with better layouts.
Course has a lovely layout
Holes are long and will test your distance off the tees.
