About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Candler Hills
I will not play at this course again. The attendants and some of the staff were rude and not encouraging. One staff person came to us after we had played and balled us out for having the cart too close to the green. My playing partner had a recent hip replacement and can't get around too well. He was using the handicap flag but to the attendant we were like criminals.
I understand a private club having many rules, but with public playing-a little customer service goes a long way.
Best all around.
What can l say. From the guys outside. They are the best. Inside people are great. Course is great. LUV IT!!
Great course great proce
Great course excellent shape, greens are true and fast
will play it again when hot deals are available
Always feel very welcome by the staff. The course it's amazing. The staff on the course grounds are very aware of the need for drinking water. Thanks for that. I try to go to Ocala once a year and hit the course as many times as the weather permits. Unfortunately this time the weather didn't cooperate with my arrangements and scored a win.
I come from Wisconsin, so the season here doesn't allow to much playing time. Thanks again for everything , yours Edwin Medina Casanova.
Still Amazing…Punched Greens
Although the greens were punched, they sanded greens are getting there. I think in about 2 weeks it will be back almost all the way if not on the money. I love the track and had a good time playing today. Fairways and tee boxes are in good condition.
No water, but plenty of bunkers
Love the layout, played on punched and top dressed greens, but I was informed by staff, played anyways it was not so bad, enjoyed the round.
Fun in Florida
Did play as good as I should, but it was not because of the condition of the golf course or greens. Got rained on at beginning of the round, but the course handled the water extremely well. Staff was exceptional.
Great time
Played for the first time and course did not disappoint. Great conditions and pace of play was great. We will definitely be back!
