About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

1st time play
Great course. Nice open fairways. No water. Watch for the sand! Enjoyed playing with locals Bruce, Vince and Dick. Nice facilities and restaurant.
Course is in great shape.
The course has a nice layout. Pace of play was good. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. whole highly recommend.
Course is well maintained
Greens pretty awesome after three weeks aerification we had a great time. Just next time turn the a/c on it was hot
Great for anyone
Good layout and distance for any tee of your choice you will have five. Be ready for bunker play
Great course
Wonderful conditions. Went out with my son great outing nice people we were paired with. My only ding would be no beverage cart service on a Saturday. The member said due to Covid but that seems rather weak. Other than that highly highly highly recommend it
It will get better when the greens heal and we need rain badly.

Very Nice Course
Just air rated. Would have been a 10.Well Sanded. Still a decent roll.
Punched greens
Course called after I booked a tee time to make sure I was aware of the aeration. Even with the punched greens and fairways, play was very good. Played in about 3 hours with two others, never had to wait on a green to clear. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Outstanding Layout
The day we played this course, they had just punch aerated the greens and fairways, so we were understanding in our review of the course. No ball washers on the course or golf carts. Numerous sand traps. Sand is excellent, easy to play.
Range had No grass to speak of, no mats either.
Nice electric golf carts, stop automatically without parking brake needed.
We were very impressed with the layout and will play this course again after the grass fills in.
The course was in great shape all the people dealing with us an the fantastic thinking to all great day
Played late afternoon
Great twilight rate. Course has no water hazards and is pretty wide open. Challenge is staying out of the 88 bunkers. Also has a very long par 5 out there! Looking forward to playing out there again.
