About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Great time
Played for the first time and course did not disappoint. Great conditions and pace of play was great. We will definitely be back!
Just Phenomenal!
Candler Hills from beginning to end is phenomenal!
From tee box to green the course is pristine. Tee boxes are nice and full and level. Fairways are like playing lift, clean and place. Greens were just verti-cut and rolled and were outstanding.
Candler Hills is a must play. I drove over 2 hours to play and will be making the drive again soon.
If you haven’t played you are missing out on a fantastic course!
WHAT A COURSE
It is by far the best course for the right price anywhere anytime you come and play this course and you will be amazed absolutely beautiful challenging excellent shape the staff is everywhere it could’ve been a better day definitely would play this course every day if I could
Nice Layout-Excellent Condition
The course has multiple tees as well as hybrid tees where you move between 2 sets of tees during your round. The back tees are championship level yet the shorter tees are still very interesting. Works well for either men or women. I'm 71 and played from tees at the 6400 yard distance this time. Will try the 6800 yard tees next time.
Absolutely Perfect
From the minute we arrived the staff was beyond welcoming. Now the course...if you like perfect greens and fairways then look no further. The layout was spectacular and challenging. 662 yard par five was one of a kind. I have played many 5 star courses at triple the price and this is right up there with the best. Should for sure be a top 50 Florida public course. Keep up the great work.

A hidden Gem
I played the course today because it is the premiere course in one of the community’s I considering in a relocation. It was a great layout, generous fairways and huge greens, that played havoc with my putting, since my proximity to the hole was usually and unfortunately far from the hole. But that’s my fault not the courses. I enjoyed the round and played with a local resident so I was able to get information about not only the course, but the community as well.

My friend came down from Atlanta and wanted to play a great course. I chose Candler.
5 Star all the way around. Course in the best shape I have seen anywhere. Worth the trip.
