About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Great course
Greens and fairways were in great shape. Some of the best greens in town.
The course is newly renovated and the greens are firm and fast. Hit a GW into #1 and watched it hit the green and bounce over. The bunkers are excellent too.
It’s a membership course, and they charge a premium for public play. The members are lucky to have this course, but I’m not sure I’d pay that public rate again. No online booking… you do have to call the pro shop.
Hole #4 is supposed to be one of the (if not THE) longest par 5s in Florida. It’s long, and uphill, but nothing too intimidating otherwise. Now, hit your tee shot short of the green on #5 and you’ll get to watch the ball run down a hill. The course has no water, plenty of sand, and wide fairways.
I’m giving this course 3 stars because that public rate stings a bit and the layout feels repetitive at times. But all of the staff were friendly and helpful and the conditions were good.
If you can’t get on at neighboring Juliette Falls, give it a try.

Great course
Course was in wonderful shape even given the 30 degree weather it saw for 2 days prior to playing and still relatively new Bermuda grass from their remodel. Layout was great, bunkers and greens were all in great shape.
Great place to play.
Pace was slower than usual.
Some dryness due to weather.

Course in good shape, will be shutting down from May 10th to sometime in November as they are redoing it. Wanted to get one more round in before then

Super course. In great condition. What makes it so good are the cart guys, starter, and guys bringing water and ice all day. Now that's called caring about ur golfers.

i’ve played a lot of courses near Ocala and Ocala, it’s the best course down in my opinion
Great Course
Got a hot deal and went out with another single that did the same. Couse was in good shape and played really nice. Course is going to be closed for a refurbish from May-Oct so wanted to play it again. Look forward to playing it again once the refurbish work is done.
