Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
About
The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

No cart person browning up
Some really bad tee boxes and hole 3 the par 5 has patches of dead area everywhere. Several holes are in bad shape. Greens though rolled true and were in descent shape
Lightning
No lightning in site but was told to leave the course…not very nicely I might adde
Just enjoy playing here
Great value for the money. The course is in very good condition considering time of year. The fairways are all basically green with very few dead spots. The greens are fine. The tee boxes are a bit beat up but I can live with that. It's a forgiving course that even a mid high handicapper like me, 16 index, can feel some success but still have it be a challenge. I also like the driving range, chipping areas and large putting green for practice times. And a cold one on the patio afterwards is very pleasant.
Walkers should pay less than riders. Locals should pay less than tourists. Locals are the ones that get you through the summer. Need benches at the tee boxes for walkers. Need drinking water on the course . Green fees are over priced in the winter.
Not what I expected
Had never played this course before so I wanted to try it. Was overpriced compared to surrounding courses. Cart was old, slow, and dirty. There was chocolate residue, or at least I hope it was chocolate, left in the compartments. Dirtied my phone and speaker. Cart was very slow and damaged. We teed off at 7 am, by 8 it was already very hot. Saw the drink cart once. Fairways were okay. Course itself was very open. Can make recovery shots with good precision. Greens were good. Tee boxes need some work though. A few of the tee box markers were set at an angle than I believe would exceed regulations. I guess they did this because the other areas were already beat up. They have dessert between fairways and in some areas it’s just dirt. BUT you aren’t allowed to cross it with cart, even if it’s 10 feet across. We were yelled at with a microphone about it. Safe to say I will not be making this course a favorite.
This course is in very nice condition
For this time of year. with many courses not looking great as they transition to summer, Bear Creek has done a nice job keeping things manicured and green. The fairways are wide and green. The greens are in respectable shape, the sand trails traps are crusty just like every other course. In the valley All in all a great value. I like the wide open links feeling and not worrying about hitting a house or another golfer. Very peaceful day with a decent pace, 3:15 start to finish. I'll be playing here often this summer.
