On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

Classic Club

Rode the Blues (6711/72.6/134) in around 4.5H early morning with GK Guru's Gary, Pedro and Dave. CPO the first part of the round slowed things down. Fun, relaxed group to play with, great to see old faces. Thanks to John for setting up and to Classic Club for having the guru group out.

Very calm by Classic Club standards, but it was brisk early and still not warm even by the time we were finishing around noon. Fun Arnold Palmer design, nice elevation changes, lakes and valleys coupled with trees that would make you think this is more of a mountain than desert course make C.C. a very unique layout for this area.

Tees level and lush with good coverage. Most divots already maintained.

Fairways were the only thing not almost immaculate. Mostly lush with a few thin areas here and there but still quite good, just not as excellent as everything else.

Rough lush and green from horizon to horizon. Just deep enough to be penal w/o being TOO penal.

Sand traps excellent with deep, thick, fine sand that both looked and played great.

Greens firm and medium fast. They putted excellent.

As always, customer service was excellent from everyone encountered here. Complementary water and good range balls on a 1st class grass practice facility. Drink cart out making the rounds. Upgraded carts with nice GPS and ports for electronics. Huge, beautiful clubhouse, everything about this place is top notch. Definitely recommended.

It's A Top Tier Experience!

We are two couples who have always wanted to play The Classic Club. I've been a Tee-Off user for quite a few years and we found a rare 'Deal Time' slot about a week before playing. We also had a 20% off code, so it brought the price down from the street rate of $175 to $115/pp. Our experience at Classic Club was top-notch all the way through. Great staff and great service. We travel with two sets of clubs in one cart bag and thus needed a day loaner bag, which was no problem at CC (cart staff had extra bag ready). We played in a little over 4 hours+ (teeing off around 11:45 a.m.). Practice area(s) were excellent. Course was in excellent condition and several holes had water to cross over which were challenging, but not unfair. We had dinner afterward where you could go simple to elegant. Had a very good burger that was perfectly prepared. Drinks were excellent as well. We have played most of the top courses in Palm Springs (Desert Willow, Indian Wells, PGA West, Silverrock) and this was the best experience of all thus far! It was a real treat!

Beautiful course

We paid $130 each which included $15 for meal/drinks, however the dining room closed by the time we finished our round. Although we started at 1pm, we were not able to finish due to waiting for golfers ahead of us.

The greens were very healthy and putts ran true, but not fast.

Highly recommended

Pace of play was the only issue on the back 9. Otherwise, great course and unique to the typical desert courses.

Best course in the valley

A hard course to get a good tee time on. The course was fabulous but a 1250 tee time meant we finished in the dark. A must play.

Must play

This is one of my top three courses I’ve played. Conditions are flawless, greens as pure as can be. Over-seed was really well done. Love the layout, each hole is great. This is a shot makers course. You must hit shots, you can’t just hit it and see what happens. Or you will leave yourself some really nasty approaches and up/down situations. If you do hit GIR, there’s really no excuse to 3 put though, cause the greens are so good. I love the mental stimulation this course provides, keeps the player mentally engaged on every shot. The course is also superbly beautiful, lots of water features and lush, vibrant green, rolling fairways. Good variety of trees around add to the ambiance. If you’re not a decent striker, bring plenty of balls, you will lose some. Staff were very nice and accommodating. If you play here, get ready for a fantastic day out, but don’t expect to shoot your personal best.
