On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

Took 40 min to get a Caesar salad with salmon. Salmon came out 10 min after salad and half raw. Carr staff great

One of the prime courses in the Coachella Valley
I have played the Classic Club many times and it is always a pleasure to come back. It was unfortunate that we found a windy day, but the excellent course condition and the great design made it an enjoyable day ( whatever Phil Mickelson says). Unfortunately the prices have been rising substantially and being no more a resident in La Quinta, you can’t play the Classic Club as often as you would like to.

Great and challenging golf course
It is always a pleasure to return to the classic club. The layout of the course is great, maintenance from tee to green excellent. The windy conditions had less people play, which had a great influence on the pace of play. The restaurant is nice and is offering good food after the round.

Great Layout
Played for the first time. Really enjoyed the challenge of the course. It was very playable but also had some challenging holes. Open fairways but plenty of water to keep you honest.
