Players of all abilities will enjoy Cimarrone Golf Club's par-72, 6,891-yard championship layout. The golf course, often referred to as "The Wild One" because of its intriguing play, opened in 1988.
Designed by David Postlethwait, Cimarrone's manicured course conditions and challenging design provide a fun, player-friendly experience for players of all abilities. Beginners will enjoy Cimarrone's well-defined fairways and magnificent greens. Advanced players will appreciate numerous risk-reward opportunities provided by strategically placed bunkers and a water or marsh feature on every hole. A total of 17 lakes surround the golf course.
Cimarrone Golf Club, which has a rating of 72.7 a slope rating of 132, has been selected as one of the top 50 courses in Florida and was given four stars out of five by Golf Digest.

Nice course…not so much everything else!
First off Tees, Fairways and Greens are in great shape other than 3-4 that they’re working on. Bunkers are not in great shape as they’re being redone.
Now the bad…Pace of play was horrible 5 1/2 hours tee times are too close together and starting off with a par 5 doesn’t help causing an immediate backup (we teed off 20 minutes late already at 9:30 am)
Beverages/Snacks…Nothing was open yet at 9:00 so ZERO options!!! Never saw a cart girl until the 9th green! We saw her only once again on the 17 hole! Unacceptable for a Saturday morning when it’s
90°+ out!
Night and day from a year ago
Greens need cutting and rolling, they’re very slow but other than that this course is in great shape but the pace of play is bad.
Really nice course
There is water on almost every hole, but you usually aren't having to hit over it. Considering the heat Florida's been having, the course was in really good shape. There are a few places where their sod had died around traps and I had to take relief. But it was mostly a great experience and the staff was really friendly.
Slow Greens
The course is in great shape; but the greens are extremely slow.
Great Course
First time golfer. Challenging course. Water on every hole. Friendly staff. Good food at club house. Will be back
Almost back
Greens are almost in for summer after aeration. Many of them still have areas that are a little long - fringe length roughly - that you may have to put on or over to get to pins, which isn't ideal. Otherwise pretty good shape all around. Looks like all the bunker work is complete and looks nice. Continues to get better under new owners.
Great shape!
The course is in fantastic shape! If you have not played in the past 6 months I would make a tee time. You won’t be disappointed.
No cart girls
The course is nice. It’s a nice layout but the last 4 times I have played the course, there are no cart girls to bee seen. When you are playing in 90 degree heat, it’s nice to have refreshments brought to you aside from what you bring.
Work in Progress
Bunkers were off limits as they are installing new ones. Fairways were very good. Greens patchy and very slow. The layout is nice, Restaurant is very good.
Bad course
Back nine closed and crew working 3 holes on front and many greens were patched.
Much improved
I've played Cimmarone 4 times over the past 2 years. The course conditions have continued to improve since the new ownership group took over ~1 year ago. Parts of the course are under improvement, which we were just fine with during our round, as it goes to show the large scale improvements on their way, especially to the greens and greenside bunkers. This round convinced me that Cimmarone will be my go-to moving forward.
Back 9 was closed
If I would have known the back 9 was closed I would have booked a different course ……
