Golfer Reviews
Excellant Course
Well taken care of and challenging as well. Looking forward to next round and have already recommend this course to family and friends.
Great Layout
Greens were still recovering from aeration and were very slow and uneven. Rough was also difficult due to prior weather, but really liked the layout. Will play again when greens are back to normal.
Nice layout
Pace slowed way down at the turn. Tee boxes need some help.. and hole 8 under maintenance.
Greens were way too slow, staff said mower was broken. Rent one, borrow one, just figure it out. I shouldn’t have to pay normal rates to deal with your issue. I do like what they are trying to do to change this course, but this round was disappointing. #keep up the investment/good work/ friendly staff
Lack of Communication
Regularly play this course, booked to play 18 holes and upon checking in was told that I would have to play the back 9 twice due to a members/guest tournament.
Good course, but needs some mowing
Cimmarone is a challenging course, but made more so with extremely high rough. Grass was so high & dense my group probably spent 30 min of the round hunting for list balls. We knew where the balls went, but almost had to step on them to locate. This slowed pace of play dramatically.
Also, greens were very fuzzy & slow almost like brillo pads. If maintenance team trims rough a bit & greens, the course will greatly improve.
Sandy and aerated greens
Course is in great shape except the greens. So much sand the greens play very slow.
Greens are under repair
The course overall was in nice condition. But the greens were under repair. Sand covers every green. I know they are working on them, which is great! But we should have been told before booking. Very disappointed they there was no mention of the condition of the greens. To spend over $55 and not been told is not right.
No one told us they just aerated the greens
The aeration on the course should have been stated when we booked paying over $50 to not be able to putt is horrible !
Beautiful course! Disappointed with communication!
The amenities and clubhouse were beautiful. The fairways were beautifully kept. The only issue I encountered was the fact that 7 days out on my booking date there was no mention of future maintenance. The greens were covered in a thick sand and had been freshly punched which completely ruined what should have been a wonderful golf outing. They had been punched on 7/30 and there was no mention online 7 days out. We also received no discounted rate. Just not a great first impression.
It's back
Played this course a couple of years ago and it was a disaster. But based upon the recent review, we dicded to give it a try and I think it is my favorite public course I have played in this area. Love the layout and everything was in amazing shape.
Cimarrone is in good shape
If you have not played Cimarron in a while, you should definitely give it a try. The courses in very good shape and well-maintained by the attendance. The prices seem like a very good value for the quality of course available.
Very slow greens
Overall the course was in fairly good condition. The greens grass was long and thick. Almost as thick as fringe on most courses. probably the slowest and bumpiest greens I have ever played. I expected more for the price. I played this course a couple years ago but I don’t remember the greens being this bad. Overall we had a good time. Tee to green was a lot of fun
