Balfron Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course that was recreated from its original layout by respected Scottish golf architect Robin Hiseman. The new nine-hole golf course was opened in 1994, and it was extended to 18 holes 7 years later.

The Baltron golf course is located six miles from Loch Lomond and 20 miles north of Glasgow. There are inspiring views of the local countryside, eerily reminiscent of playing golf in the Scottish highlands.

Great day out

Course was spotless and in great nick, wee starter guy was lovely on the 1st tee, strictly off the yellows today and had a Texas scramble round with my three mates.

Went round in par and course was well maintained and in great shape, dry as a bone and great views, great value for £25 for 12.30 on a Saturday, would recommend and definitely play again.

Building a clubhouse which is in construction which will only add to a great day out when finished.

Brilliant wee course

Layout and quality of fairways and greens were excellent. Was the first time playing but will definitely be back.

They are currently building a new clubhouse hence the 3 star rating for amenities. I'm sure when it's finished it will be 5 star.

Starter and course ranger were very friendly and gave useful information about the course.

Would highly recommend

Had an amazing afternoon at this beautiful golf course. One of the most stunning in terms of views i have ever played worth the hours drive from the city area 100%. Got lost when trying to find with Google maps and with the parking but honestly once you get there you are rewarded. I would say you forget about your score with this course just with how amazing those views are. Will definitely look to return over the summer.

Great course

What a fantastic course to play, especially this time of year. I hadn’t played in months so booked around for myself. Shot 90 but golfers with handicaps will shoot well below that. Will be back when the new club house is build.

Day out with a mate

Booked a 2 ball on Balfron golf course like to play definite golf courses.

Turned up at course there was no club house or anyone to ask anything about the course.

So made our way to first tee there was a wee box with score cards in it.

We teed off and course was in good condition for time off your wee bit hill but not to hard a walk good mix off different holes.

Hopefully return when club house is but and in summer conditions.

Balfron

Had a fantastic round at Balfron.

For February the course was in very good condition.

The views were superb from different areas of the course.

I can imagine the course would be brilliant in the summer months.

Played the day after a storm so a lot or rain had fell. Most of the greens were in play. A cracking wee course with stunning views

Great layout

Good test of golf with some terrific holes. Backdrop to some of the holes was as good as you get anywhere.

Only downside was greens had been cored & sanded but that's no different to many courses at this time of year.

Well worth playing.

Nice day out

Weather nice, not too cold and not much wind, course in great condition nice wide smooth fairways, greens had been cored but were very fast and true, preferred lies were in play but were not really needed, saw a fourball and a two ball in the distance.

Tee off areas good

Fairways nice condition

Rough very difficult to get out of and you really dont want to be hitting balls in there if you want to get a decent score !

Greens were quick but had been hollow tinning recently and the ball didnt run as true as you would like

Very hilly so you need to

Make sure you Re rrsdy for a proper trek !

Overall good value for money a good test with a few real tough holes, some fantastic views as well !

But would definitely return if in the area

Fantastic

Excellent round of golf on a beautiful course in great condition. The course itself is challenging and somewhat hilly however does not detract from a brilliant layout. stunning greens. Wouldn't hesitate to return for a round and the views surrounding course are breathtaking. Highly recommend.
