Brilliant for £10
I'm still a rookie and only played a handful of courses, so a pinch of salt perhaps.
Course condition is very, very good, especially for this time of the year and the recent rains.
First 12 holes are very nice parkland with smooth rolling hills. Afterwards it gets tough and super hilly. 14 and 15 and are a very tough loop due to the challenge of the shots plus the gradient/hills to walk between them. It slightly soured the round due to being pretty puffed out. I played with a member who was of an age. He doesn't play past the 12th due to the 'hillwalking' aspect.
There's nothing wrong with the course, it's just a small shock to the system to have the tough hill sections towards the end of the round. Difficulty and conditions are unbelievable for just £10. Go play it!
I will be back again!
Dugs
Dugs dugs everywhere, gonna steal your baw, gonna munch your baws
17 baws lost cos we're rubbish but also no greenkeeper leaves all over the shop and grass like Snoop Dogs gaff
Great First Round
Great, challenging course with a variety of holes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to playing again soon
Great day at Dalmuir!
Fantastic course and we really enjoyed our round here. Paul, the starter, was extremely friendly and welcoming and was very accommodating when we were late due to a road accident on the way through from Edinburgh. The course is a real challenge (particularly the hilly last 6). The signature 14th offers spectacular views and is definitely a hole that every golfer should play at some point. Dalmuir can’t be beaten on value for money and we would thoroughly recommend this course for an enjoyable round.
Just Amazing Value
To put this in perspective, 100 balls at the nearest driving range is £11.
The course is in great condition, a couple of tees were a bit rough and ready but overall just amazing value for money. The greens are good, the fairways are well looked after and I will definitely be back.
Great track
Played here many times growing up though haven't played here in a while. Great layout & the wee drap & the gulley are 2 of the best par 3s you'll play anywhere. The condition of the course was good, if you get the chance it's excellent value for money!
Great value for money
Played today with my son who’s a beginner. Some really good holes, some of them very challenging. Will definitely test your fitness on the hilly ones, struggled to get up them tbh says more about my fitness than the course. Greens were immaculate so well done to green keepers.
A course of 2 halves
Always enjoy playing Dalmuir and maintain there are no better municipal courses around. Enjoyable from 1 to 12. Hole 13 is just horrible and if you can still breathe and haven't torn up your scorecard by 15, it's also a decent finish. My biggest gripe is that a lot of people "jump on" at the 2nd so you can very quickly catch up with groups and have to wait to play. Other than that, great course
Perfect condition
Really enjoyed our first visit to Dalmuir. The course was in excellent condition and each of the holes were enjoyable.
Fabulous Day out.
Very friendly welcome from the guys in the pro shop. First time playing Dalmuir so I was given a quick run down of the layout which was a great help. The condition of the course was magnificent and you won’t find anywhere better for the price. There’s a few challenging holes, in particular the 14th and 15th, which wrecked my score but definitely didn’t dampen my spirits. It was a cracking morning out. All the other golfers out on the course were very friendly and the pace of play throughout was great. A fabulous course I just wish I lived closer so I could play it more often. Go on give it a go it won’t disappoint!!
Stormy Weather
I love the course and haven't played since I was at school in the 90s...! Optimistically turned up today, despite what the weather forecast said, for 2pm tee off and hit a peach off the first tee...! Before my 2 playing partners could even hit, the thunder and lighting hit with a vengeance...! My second shot into the green was my last of the day as the water consumed the course...! Will definitely be back in the very near future to carry on where we left off...!
Great course
Great course for £10 is unbelievable course is in fantastic condition challenging course well worth a visit! Although the last 6 holes are hilly but will definetly be back.
