Chester Washington Golf Course

Well the good news is there’s good grass all around mostly.

The rough is very thick in many parts, especially around the greens, which helps to catch the ball at least so the ball doesn’t run away, so take it for what it is lol

Greens were horrible. They had not fully recovered from the punching, and most of them were very bumpy still, not smooth, and had not been cut or rolled. May be 2 greens were OK, the rest were like playing Plinko as the ball would just bounce all over the place.

Pace of Play was 5 hours and 20!!! And they had a 20 minute delay on the first tee!!! What are they doing??? Just tell people to keep up with the group in front and play ready golf!!! That’s all you have to tell them, especially if you have a starter guy standing there!!! Just a few words like that would help!!!

So many terrible Novice golfers who should not be on the course are wrecking it for everybody else, getting drunk and belligerent and slowing everybody down. But even they would probably play faster if they are told!!!

Think of others!!! Think of the players on the course!!!

And fix the ball marks on the greens!!! Please!!!

Was surprised at how small the greens were. Made it a challenge.

Slow is an understatement. Glacial. And the greens were brutal. Punched apparently in March, they still hadn’t cured. Ugh.

As a new (2yrs in) golfer, Chester Washington is one of my go-to courses when I come to LA. Minimal water, pretty open fairways with thick grass all around if you miss the fairway or green. The bunkers weren’t in good shape today so we picked up and placed on those shots. The real negative is the course time management. No starter or ranger causes lots of back up. I bring my patience with me when I play here because I’ve realized a lot of beginners play here, just like me. No cart girls either but at the turn the restaurant and bar will take good care of you. Excellent driving range, chipping and putting area for practice. Beware! Coyotes everywhere! They come out to hunt squirrels often. Not friendly but not aggressive.

Vibes. Course is just full of them. R&B radio on the driving range, history, and well maintained. With that said, we had a couple holes 5 & 6 which were set up with really brutal pin positions and over rolled greens which caused putts to go uphill and roll back down unless you made them which should be addressed. Overall enjoyed the round.

Chester Washington Golf Course look great, except for Hole #2. The greens needs some Love..........⛳️. I had a great time Golfing @ Chester Washington.......😁😀🏌‍♂️🏆. Go Golfers..........😎.

The course itself is in good shape and the staff are friendly the big issue here is pace of play along with very slow to get off the 1st tee. Our tee time is at 1220 and we didn’t tee off till 145-2 it got dark around 630 and we only finished 14 holes. Not sure if this can be fixed but I don’t plan on playing this course again unless I get there very early.

Our original tee time is 12:36 pm March 1sr last Sunday.

There are so many groups waiting for 1st hole tee start.

We ended up starting 1:35 pm one hour behind schedule.

Also pace of play is freaking slow so we stopped playing at 9th hole.

Every time I came here I found carts shortage and overbooked tee times especially weekends. It's been a while like these situations.

They never tried to improve these.
