Rain check
Tee time was at 10:12, teed it up w 4 others. After 1st hole there was 2 -5somes waiting to tee off oan the next hole.
Waited and basically took 1hr to play 2holes.
Ridiculousness.
Course was in good shape.
Staff was great, we were late for our tee time, but they still got us right out. Course was in good shape, nice greens and well conditioned fairways. Bunkers were better than many big courses I've played. Course was busy but still a fast pace of play, only 3 and a half hours for 18.
Great Value!
This course is great for a quick 18 holes during the week and a great value! Most of the holes are pretty straight forward but the new holes on the east side of the course are awesome and present a challenge!
lots of variety
Westchester is a good course for practice. mostly par3's, short par4's, and one par5. No two holes alike makes for an interesting experience. Pace of play can be bad at times, but I played in 3 hours at super-twilight.
GREAT VIEWS OF LARGE AIRPLANES LANDING AND TAKING OFF.
HAD A GREAT ROUND. NOT BAD FOR CHEAP GOLF IN THE MIDDLE OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. IT IS WHAT IT IS . CHEAP AND CROWDERD. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. BRING A CAMERA AND MAYBE GET A GREAT PIC ON THE PAR 5 OF AN AIRPLANE LANDING ON WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE FAIRWAY. A MUST!
JD SCRATCH GOLFER
Easily walkable, great staff. I will be back.
First time playing Westchester and I enjoyed it, if I have a few hours to kill midday i will definitely be back. Intrigued by there night golf option, once I get a better handle on my hook I will give it a try.
This course has something for every golfer...
The course is an executive type golf course with a majority of the holes playing at approx. 150 yards, it does have a par five which was quite nice. I think this course is good for fine tuning your game for a regulation course.
great value - only one Par 5 -short course
Played around 4PM. At the beginning the pace was a little slow but it picked up after the first 9 holes. The noise from the starting and landing planes is a little bit annoying
Excellant game improving course
I have played Westchester for a while and noticed that their greens will stand up to anybody's in the SoCal area. The remodeled driving range is great and the course seems to always be maintained (fairways cut even, rough has few grass clumps and greens roll pretty true). Keep up the great work... Recommend for anybody visiting LAX area and desire to get out to a course which will offer shot making and putting challenges.
it is a fun short course
it is a fun short course and it is hard to lose a ball there
The course is short enough to throw your bag over your shoulder and walk for great exercise.
Great value for the buck. Lights on at night let's you play late.
Relatively easy course, perfect for beginners
Recently upgraded driving range, friendly staff, convenient location for players who live around west LA/south bay area,
Some greens require attention, but overall decent course for the money. I usually play weekdays in the morning and pace of play is pretty decent.
One of my faborite
I love the course. Easy to walk it. It is in great shape
Bang for the Buck
I enjoy playing westchester, it's a great executive 18 hole course. The pace of play can be a bit bothersome at times when it's busy but all in all it opens up after hole 4. Just be sure to keep an eye out for the occasional "Fore!!" cuz there are plenty of hackers out there.
Needs flush toilets to be considered "well-maintained"!
Great to have the full 18 holes.
However, is it the outhouses that make you "unique" as stated in your heading?
Until you eliminate the outhouses and instead provide flush toilet "rest stops" I do not consider you as "well maintained"
Plays like a golf course more than a pitch and putt.
Maintained fairways. Consistent, soft greens. The ocean breeze is almost always blowing, adding a welcome degree of difficulty to this short course. And thee planes, you can see thee planes.
The back 9 holes are better, and more challenging.
We live a few blocks away, so it's convenient for us.
It's not the pretty course, but we enjoy it, because we usually can finish 18 holes in a little over 3 hours--however we only play during the week and not on the weekend.
