Located at the heart of the immense Anza Borrego State Park, Rams Hill Golf Club sits perched on a hillside overlooking the desert floor. Tom Fazio designed the course, fully utilizing the existing features of the terrain from the natural slopes and undulations to the many lakes and streams. The layout features rolling fairways and elevated greens framed by carefully sculpted bunkers. Each hole has a different character, as well as a different set of challenges, thanks to the natural elevation changes. The final hole is considered a classic Fazio finishing hole and one of the most memorable on the golf course. This par 5 begins with a downhill tee shot to a wide fairway that slopes towards a large lake on the right, then you'll face an uphill third shot to a green protected by an array of threatening bunkers and a large waterfall.

Good course, long drive

With so many options in PS I don’t think I’d make the drive again. It was always on my list and glad I went but it’s in the middle of nowhere.

Highly Recommend

Challenging layout and green complexes, but fair. Peaceful & quiet, some houses around the course but at a distance. There were a few patchy areas of fairway here & there that they were working on, but all things considered the course conditions were excellent. Attentive, helpful staff, free tacos at the turn and a free cookie after 18. Great experience all around.

One of my favorites

Love Fazio courses and this one especially. Really nice layout. Great views. Conditions were better when I played here in November 2022, but they rebuilt most or all fairways this past summer and I think it needs more time to fully take. Pace of play was a bit slower than normal but still finished under 4.5 hours. Well worth the drive through the desert to get here!

Fantastic layout

The course is tough from tee to green and requires the mastering of all your clubs in the bag. The bunkers are perfectly positioned and there are plenty. The green are difficult to read and play. Course condition was excellent and you can only have an excellent time at Ram‘s Hill.

Bob and Carla are absolute top notch staff that deserve recognition. There was another gentleman behind the pro shop counter who was fantastic as well but I did not catch his name.
