About
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycan Resort) offers two 18-hole championship courses, Oak Glen and Willow Glen, as well as an 18-hole, par-3 course. The courses are tucked into a valley, surrounded by mountains and sloping hillsides that provide stunning backdrops on almost every hole. The Sweetwater River runs through the Oak Glen Course, coming into play on several holes including the memorable fifth hole, which is definitely a contender for one of the best par 4s in San Diego. This challenging hole requires an accurate drive across the river. The gently rolling terrain is sprinkled with mature trees. The layout features undulating greens and tight fairways. It is a challenging golf course but it is generally forgiving off of the tees, which makes it slightly less difficult than the hillier Willow Glen Course from Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan.

Remodeled Oak Coarse
First time playing the new remodeled Oak Coarse.
Niger lakes and water features are very nice. Green speeds were on the slower side than I’m used to but putting lines were true and predictable .unfortunately pace of play was slow, waiting at every Tee box.. Coarse spread to be backed up. We never saw a marshal to speed things along.
A fair amount of areas were still under construction but didn’t really affect play. The par 5 10th hole was closed and replaced with a short par 3 practice hole, not a deal killer, but affects total score.
Buy spring coarse should be great. Right now Sycuan she apply discount rates until completion of restoration.

Disappointed
I made a reservation with a cart and when we showed up to check in it was walking only because it rained the night before. I was not refunded my money even though I held up my end of the deal. Nobody notified me that it was that way either.

Good ol’ Oak Glen is back
Old Oak Glen is back and then some. Course construction is underway but seems almost finished and doesn’t really interfere with play. Greens were true and fairways were decent. When the work is done this place will really be amazing but good enough to play now for sure. Always one of the best courses in town, it good to have Oak Glen back. We need it!

Custruction was not an obstacle
Course was in fairly nice shape considering there was construction going on in various places. I did not affect tee, fairways or greens. Huge nuisance was the prohibited areas for the carts. It was random at times and in areas that were questionable to not be able to drive.

Great golf course
This is our second time playing here. It is a great course and very friendly staff. I don’t understand why the rating is so low 3 stars. This is really not fair. I’d rate it 5 stars. I would definitely recommend it to my friends to play here.

Still under construction
Had fun but a fair amount of funky transitions in the cart and still not done with the construction.

Great condition!
We were so impressed with Oak. It is still being upgraded, and there are some adjustments hole to hole, but they have put a ton of time and money into it. It shows! The water holes are beautiful and challenging. The fairways and the greens are in top condition. We were impressed with the changes and the maintenance/care of the course. We will be back!

Day before thanksgiving, zero people on course
they are currently doing renovations to the course, but they don't interfere with your play. we came on a perfect day and no one else was on the course so we played 18 in 3 hours. overall decent grass, greens were good but speed was inconsistent. ill be coming back forsure

Must Play*
Ok, so this course is under construction. With that out of the way, now to the review.
Simply put, what was in play was in good shape and very playable, however, where there is construction, it is definitely under construction. Lots of folks have left damning reviews for "how bad the course conditions " are, but I'm telling you, you will not be disappointed with the experience as long as you understand the course is under construction. My wife and I had a great experience, pro shop staff was pleasant, snackbar staff was pleasant, and the cart gals were pleasant as well.
So on to our personal review:
The range is convenient, easy to use ball distribution. The only complaint is that it's a mat only range, no chance to tee up for driver warm up.
The starter was very helpful and informative.
Signage was decent (needs a little improvement)
Cart paths were brand new in some places, and non existent in others. Again under construction.
The construction crew was mindful of the golfers, and paused/moved when necessary.
In closing, we had an opportunity to spend a beautiful California day together playing golf, and on more than one occasion spoke of how exciting the finished product will be.

The course is being totally remodeled, which they tell you when you arrive and have no other options.
