About
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycan Resort) offers two 18-hole championship courses, Oak Glen and Willow Glen, as well as an 18-hole, par-3 course. The courses are tucked into a valley, surrounded by mountains and sloping hillsides that provide stunning backdrops on almost every hole. The Sweetwater River runs through the Oak Glen Course, coming into play on several holes including the memorable fifth hole, which is definitely a contender for one of the best par 4s in San Diego. This challenging hole requires an accurate drive across the river. The gently rolling terrain is sprinkled with mature trees. The layout features undulating greens and tight fairways. It is a challenging golf course but it is generally forgiving off of the tees, which makes it slightly less difficult than the hillier Willow Glen Course from Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan.

Course was doing construction and didn’t inform anyone
The course was doing a lot of construction and the holes were so messed up. What a terrible round!

Not bad
Greens are a bit slow but consistent and lot of patchy areas that are dead or very muddy and wer. Great layout although lot of repairs ongoing. I got a hot deal for $27 inclusing cart so that is amazing, not sure I'd pay the ~75 rack rate.

Good day of golf
Love the course. Fairways and greens are great, sand traps well kept. the rough can be a little long but its not bad.. Great restaurant and pro shop. There is construction going on right now so the water is a bit low and there are hazards but it doesn't really impact play until the 18th hole on oaks.

Poor condition
Other than the greens, the condition of this course is POOR. I played exactly one week prior to this round and, inexplicably, the pin locations had not been moved!

Pathetic tee boxes
The tee markers have obviously not been moved for weeks on a majority of the holes as there are dirt trenches between the markers, ridiculous.
The fairways were mostly in poor condition. The greens were good.
The sensor in cart 65 was too sensitive. Even stopped me twice in the middle of the paved cart path, and 3 times in my own fairway. I’m from
Colorado, i play here a couple times a year when I’m out here. This was a huge disappointment. Not sure I’ll be back. For now it’s a poor value!

Fairway condition was terrible!
I played many times this course, however today's fairway condition was very bad, like rough. I lost my ball at fairway!
Maybe, the course will prepare some important tournament.

Shady
I've played the courses at Sycuan for many years. It's usually in mid-range condition, and the staff are nice...especially the ladies working the beverage carts. But today they charged a full premium rate of $85 with the fairways being overseeded and longer than the rough...and the greens still had slight punch marks in them. It was absolutely atrocious. I'd have no problem with this if they were up front about it and reduced the rate. But they know people will sign up and not know till they get here and pay the full price. Just because of how shady it is, I will never play here again.

UNBELIEVABLY BAD CONDITIONS. Save your $$
My first negative review ever. Called the pro shop prior to reserving on Golfnow and was told (without asking) that they had overseeded a few weeks prior but were cutting fairways and greens for the first time the morning before we played. They did not and when I say the fairways were unlike anything I’d ever played on before, that’s with zero exaggeration. My group lost countless balls that were in the middle of the fairway, and oddly there was very little grass in the rough. Greens had been mowed at some point but they were equally as bad. Finally the carts couldn’t go anywhere near the fairway or they would shut down, the problem was you couldn’t tell where the fairways were and most holes didn’t have actual cart paths, there were times when our carts wouldn’t go when we were on the cart path right next to the tee boxes, constantly had to put them in reverse and then push them a few yards! I made the tee time for the group and I was embarrassed by the conditions. Spoke to a young guy in the pro shop afterwards and he was like “yeah whatever”. Easily the WORST conditioned course I’ve ever played and it was a “Hot Deal” for $50.
