About
Willow Glen is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycuan Resort), which also boasts an 18-hole, par-3 course. Nestled in a valley between lush hillsides, the golf courses all offer stunning mountain views. The mountains also help to block the wind, which allows for more agreeable playing conditions. Willow Glen is slightly more challenging than the other championship course due to a hillier terrain and more fairways that are tightly lined with mature pines, oaks, and cottonwoods. The trees shape the landing zones and add definition to the doglegs. Proper placement off the tees is necessary for doing well on this course. Contoured mounding borders the greensides as well as more than 40 bunkers. Water also comes into play on six holes. The 11th through the 15th holes are an impressive stretch that presents a variety of challenges as well as unrivaled scenery.

pace of play was an hour longer than good pace of play. The course was in the worst shape I have seen in 10 years. Not worth the price and I was not told ahead of time that it was cart path only
Really shaggy fairways
They’re overseeding so cart path only, and fairways were really shaggy (1.5-2” unmowed), to the point of easily losing your ball right down the middle. Other than that greens were nice, but I wouldn’t play here again until they’ve mowed the fairways down. Wouldn’t hurt to call ahead and ask.

Awful conditions and a 5.5 hour round
This was the only course that we have lost balls on the fairway! They had not mowed in a while and balls were not visible even when they landed smack in the middle of the fairway. Greens and tee boxes were in awful shape too. The course was not marshalled and therefore the pace of play was unacceptable.

HORRIBLE
Lost balls in the fairways it was so overgrown, cart path only with no warning, left after 12 holes due to conditions and pace of play. Staff was very rude when I called and asked about the conditions and was told "it's called overseeding" like I'm some idiot.

Run
This place is a absolute joke. I have played dam near every course in the county. Single digit handicap and this has to be one of the worst rounds in years. Fairways are garbage, overseers and near unplayable. Didn't inform anyone it was cart path only. Horrible layout from the backs. Will never play this course again unless it's free. Price should have been adjusted due to conditions but they don't care.

Worst pace of play and conditions I’ve ever had
Congrats guys you did it!
You guys managed to have the worst running golf course on this day I’ve ever played .
Overseeding and other course maintenance left carts to fairways only . They over sold their reservations and it was just a slow mess . It took 2.5 hours to get 4 or 5 holes done. The Marshall was out hocking balls at .5 mph (since his cart shouldn’t have been there) rather than enforcing play. There needs to be better information given to the customer about this. I left early obviously .
Also big thumbs up to not being able to contact anyone about this circus of play. If you’re reading this and are a manager check your email.

What is going on?
Charged us 70 bucks to play a course that had the fairest grass at 6 inches high. Horrible conditions with no warnings . Bad!

Disappointing
I have played this course before and it is a great one. However they have just done fairway and green maintenance and it was cart path only. I don’t mind the exercise even at 74, but there was no difference between fairway and rough. Areas that should have been fairways the grass was 3-4 inches long. We lost several balls that should have been findable and when you cannot have a cart to roam and look, it was not a good day. Yeah I should have called course but I booked through GolfNow and they did not indicate CPO or course conditions. DO NOT play here until Sycuan has mowed.

Very disappointed
Made reservation to play Singing Hills as part of a vacation to San Diego. Big mistake! Other than not being told that the greens had just been punched and top-dressed, the fairways were an inch high , it would be cart path only and some groups would be playing a scramble….it was OK. After taking an hour and forty minutes to play the first five holes, we went to No. 10 and played the back nine.

Shaggy Fairways
Fairways have been left to grow long (after punching?), this made it difficult to find a ball in the middle.

Great potential
Willow Glen has great potential but not in great condition last weekend. They have recently over seeded and aerated the greens.
Greens were long, slow and bumpy. They needed mowed and rolled but this may be coming later. Hard to find your ball in some of the fairways. Carts on paths as well.
Perhaps in another few weeks the course will be in better condition but right now it’s very rough.

After 30 Years, A Lot Has Changed
This was the first course I have ever played and it was the course that caused me to pick up the game I love dearly. I came back after not playing it for 30 years and it was good to be back but it was evident the course is tired. It needs investing in fairway and greens management. It is a fun Thursday morning course, but for the price and time it took for 18, you won’t get weekend value or your 5 hours of play time back. If it were $10-$15 dollars cheaper and 1.5 hours faster it might garner a higher rating.

Excellent layout, nice people, but discounted price to locals, but not Golf Now participants. Greens were burned out in spots, long and shaggy, plugs everywhere, not at all worth the price.
Played Singing Hills in college at SDSU. Always a great course, but disappointed in condition of greens. Should have been told at check—in or given a discount to play on them!

Just horrible green conditions and there was no notice!!
Greens were complete crap with zero notice on golfnow or in the proshop. I even asked the starter why there were “maintenance times” on the sheet. (I looked at his paper sheet and saw “maint” blocks throughout the sheet). He says, “No, its just so we aren’t too busy and the course has time to recoup.” Just embarrassing on so many levels. I will NEVER come back, and will tell everyone I know to never play here. 90% of the greens look like the image below. The ones that did not rolled at about a 7 and are better described as a fringe rather than a green.
