Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Willow Glen
About
Willow Glen is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Singing Hills Golf Club, which also boasts a 9-hole, par-3 course. Nestled in a valley between lush hillsides, the golf courses all offer stunning mountain views. The mountains also help to block the wind, which allows for more agreeable playing conditions. Willow Glen is slightly more challenging than the other championship course due to a hillier terrain and more fairways that are tightly lined with mature pines, oaks, and cottonwoods. The trees shape the landing zones and add definition to the doglegs. Proper placement off the tees is necessary for doing well on this course. Contoured mounding borders the greensides as well as more than 40 bunkers. Water also comes into play on six holes. The 11th through the 15th holes are an impressive stretch that presents a variety of challenges as well as unrivaled scenery.

Best condition of the year
Willow Glen #14 is still under repair and is a temp green. Otherwise, tee boxes, fairways and greens are in best condition I've seen this year.
Bad conditions and profits over safety
Greens were wildly inconsistent. On several holes fairway grass was deeper than rough. Pace of play was surprised good on Black Friday. Tried to force us to share carts because they booked a tournament on busiest day of year.
Cart Paths Only
Recently overseeded, didn't know before we got there. Cart paths only, delayed play but still had a great time.
Unbelievably Slow Pace of Play
Beautiful course, but the pace of play was ridiculous. We were over an hour behind our rate of play by the time we finished. Started at noon and did not even finish a full 18 by the time it got dark. We waited at least 15-20 minutes on every hole. Liked the course, but will not be coming back due to how long a round takes. I could not imagine paying 125$ to play here with how overbooked the course is. Save your money and play at Cottonwood down the street instead.
Poor pace of play
This might be my fault for booking this course on a holiday (Veterans Day). Very packed, the Marshall even told us that it was over booked. We gave up on the 13th hole. Not enough carts, had to wait 20 minutes for a cart, lucky we were early. The course was really good, greens played really fast. Other than having to wait 5-10 minutes on every hole, the cart situation, and not finishing the 18 holes I paid for...was a good day!
Great course
1st time on this course. Great layout can’t wait for next chance to play..
review
Coarse was fun to play, however the practice area was closed. David who helped me at check was NOT friendly and seemed annoyed to be working. I felt I was bothering him and wasting his time.whan asking questions.
Dreadful Conditions
I've been playing Sycuan regularly for a few years. The greens are usually somewhat different and bumpy but I tolerate it, because I like the layout.
But as of September, this course is unplayable. The tee boxes are chewed up and full of weeds, the greens are plugging, dead slow and agonizingly bumpy. Not to mention the large scars on just about every surface.
Months if not a year before I'll be back. Casino money must've dried up. Too bad.
Course Condition
The fairways were patchy. The greens were in poor contain. Patchy and very bumpy. Played like a muni course. Would have expected much better from a “resort” course.
Punched greens are healing very slowly
Greens in bad condition after 10 days punch. Bald spots and bumpy. Before punch the greens were great.
Course in terrible condition
Greens and tees in extremely poor condition - not worth the time or money. Other courses have invested during covid-19, this course is the complete opposite and they are still charging high rates. Thoroughly disappointed, needs at least a year for the course to recover from the negligence.
Course Conditions Worst I Have Experienced Here
I have played here many times over the years and the course conditions I experienced were by far the worst I have seen at Singing Hills. Beginning with the practice area, it is clear that they are no longer maintaining this course in the same way they used to. Fairways were inconsistent, with bare spots and overgrown areas, greens were in poor condition, as were the tee boxes. We had played the Oak course on July 23rd and were sorely disappointed with the conditions there, but Willow was still decent at that time. Now, however, Willow has dropped to the same poor conditions. I will pay half the price and go to Cottonwood 3 miles away for a course in much better condition.
