Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Willow Glen
About
Willow Glen is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycuan Resort), which also boasts an 18-hole, par-3 course. Nestled in a valley between lush hillsides, the golf courses all offer stunning mountain views. The mountains also help to block the wind, which allows for more agreeable playing conditions. Willow Glen is slightly more challenging than the other championship course due to a hillier terrain and more fairways that are tightly lined with mature pines, oaks, and cottonwoods. The trees shape the landing zones and add definition to the doglegs. Proper placement off the tees is necessary for doing well on this course. Contoured mounding borders the greensides as well as more than 40 bunkers. Water also comes into play on six holes. The 11th through the 15th holes are an impressive stretch that presents a variety of challenges as well as unrivaled scenery.

Dreadful Conditions
I've been playing Sycuan regularly for a few years. The greens are usually somewhat different and bumpy but I tolerate it, because I like the layout.
But as of September, this course is unplayable. The tee boxes are chewed up and full of weeds, the greens are plugging, dead slow and agonizingly bumpy. Not to mention the large scars on just about every surface.
Months if not a year before I'll be back. Casino money must've dried up. Too bad.
Course Condition
The fairways were patchy. The greens were in poor contain. Patchy and very bumpy. Played like a muni course. Would have expected much better from a “resort” course.
Punched greens are healing very slowly
Greens in bad condition after 10 days punch. Bald spots and bumpy. Before punch the greens were great.
Course in terrible condition
Greens and tees in extremely poor condition - not worth the time or money. Other courses have invested during covid-19, this course is the complete opposite and they are still charging high rates. Thoroughly disappointed, needs at least a year for the course to recover from the negligence.
Course Conditions Worst I Have Experienced Here
I have played here many times over the years and the course conditions I experienced were by far the worst I have seen at Singing Hills. Beginning with the practice area, it is clear that they are no longer maintaining this course in the same way they used to. Fairways were inconsistent, with bare spots and overgrown areas, greens were in poor condition, as were the tee boxes. We had played the Oak course on July 23rd and were sorely disappointed with the conditions there, but Willow was still decent at that time. Now, however, Willow has dropped to the same poor conditions. I will pay half the price and go to Cottonwood 3 miles away for a course in much better condition.
Wonderful experience
We had a wonderful experience on the course. A very pleasing to the eye design and setting. Greens could have been in better shape.
Good course!
As always playing Singing Hills is fun. The course is well maintained and the staff is friendly. The only criticism I have is the cart GPS is so cluttered with messages from the club house that you feel like just turning it off. I had to clear the message at least 40 times for an18 hole round.
disgraceful customer service in proshop
If you like disgraceful customer service in the pro shop, play at sycuan. I arrived an hour earlier than my tee-time and in the interests of playing by myself to avoid contact with the other golfers for covid reasons, I asked to go out earlier Even although there were no golfer's with scheduled tee-times for over an hour prior to my teetime, they would not let me tee off earlier than my scheduled teetime. Obviously sycuan has no interest in promoting customer safety in the current covid environment. So play at sycuan if you want risk your health with covid.
Disappointed all around
This review is for current course conditions and would change if they took care of the course better. I have played here over a dozen times and honestly, this is the worst I've seen it. Maybe it's due to Covid, but considering it is tied to Sycuan Casino, you would think this course would be in better shape. As far as Casino courses go, this one is pretty disappointing. Way too much dirt and different types of grasses in the fairways. What's the point of hitting a fairway if you aren't getting good grass in the fairway. It entirely defeats the purpose. Greens are a little over grown, soft and and slow. Bunker sand is terrible. I'd call it somewhat soft dirt. Overall this course has fallen off consideribly. I would NOT pay for anything other than a twilight rate here. Step your game up Sycuan.
Worst Golf Experience I’ve Ever Had
If you want stereotypical resort golf where the course is extremely packed and you can get 18 in in about 5.5 hours. This is the place for you. Worst pace of play of all time.
awful green condition
This is one of my favorite course, so I invited 6 my friends over there. I wanted to celebrate one of my friends birthday. We all were disappointed by the slow green and awful fairways.
Slow green
This course was one of my favorite, but it was not as good as it used to be.
The greens were slow, and fairways were not good to play.
Always very good
Greens were way too slow, please mow more frequently. Could have used a marshall to keep groups in front moving to avoid a 5 hour round.
Great course
Scott in the pro shop is awesome. The starter is such a great guy , he starts you off with positive energy. The conditions on the course are great. The best place to play golf.
