Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Good value, but needs attention to details.

Course was nicely laid out and scenic. Cart paths were a combo of concrete and sand, with some jarring bumps between sections. Ball washers were dry, except for some with nasty, smelly dark water inside. People are super friendly but a few simple touches would add to the experience.

Nice but rough Fairways.

Gorgeous Course. Tough but reasonable. Fairway grass was dormant and wish they had overspeed, a bit like playing on Hardpan

Coarse is under new mgt. Practice green should closed. Several greens need serious TLC. The greens were rather slow compared to others around the area.

The day was cold and very windy. The course was in very good shape. I play here often and I love the layout. However, I would like to mention that all the improvements are fantastic. I believe the cart paths need work, I believe the one between 13 or 14th hole needs works it is a hazard.

I was blown away by how improved the course is since I played here in January if 2024. It’s a great layout and a tremendous value for the dollars. Had a great chat with Gary in the Pro Shop. Staff is very friendly! I’m definitely coming back!

Continued Improvements

Metro Golf Group has seriously increased the playability of this great layout. It seems they are really trying to restore the integrity of Arnold Palmer's design. If they continue improving throughout 2025, this course will be the course to play in the months to come. Great value already. Can't wait to come back.

Played with my nephew.

It was his second time to play ever. When we got there, it was like scotland weather, cool and rainey. Only forty eight players were on the course that day. However, we let three groups pass us because it was only his second time to play. We had to skip two holes and finished right at dark. My nephew had a blast! He almost hit the green on the first par three. He had a great putt and one other great shot. That's what keeps us coming back. The course was in great shape, pace of play was great and the staff is always friendly. We'll definitely play there again.
