About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

The layout is great and each hole is different and challenging. However the course conditions were less than average. No grass in the fairways and the cart paths need a lot of work. With average playing conditions this course would be a gem. I sincerely hope they improve the course conditions as I would play it regularly.

Used to be one of the best public tracks in bluffton, now the course is in awful shape. Terrible greens, no real rough or fairways, bunkers over sanded, and the driving range was completely grass free. Awesome layout and very nice people, but to charge $50 even with the cart is way to much money. Really disappointed because I’ve lived in the low country most of my life and this place was always awesome. Not so much anymore

Have played Crescent before, but this will be the last! Condition of course was horrible, greens had no grass only short weeds and fertilizer painted green, tee boxes had only a few weeds and dirt, fairways weeds! My grandson ordered a hotdog at the turn, only 1, was given two and charged 23.00, for a hotdog! They even charged 50 cents for water that you got yourself, not bottled! Golf now should remove from it’s offers, it will definitely be off ours. With some money put into course, it could be a good venue, but as it stands, Arnie would be ashamed to have his name associated with it!
Nice layout, the Palmer design quality still apparent.
Pro shop staff were good. Good location. The community and homes around it are nice. Saw some cool birds, animals around.
The grounds condition here suggests the crew were sent home during Covid and not enough of them were asked to return. Course seems like it has private club design and a town owned Muni maintenance budget.
Had fun playing it and do not discourage anyone from doing so, just have reasonable expectations about the condition.

Neglected Gem
Crescent Pointe used to be a beautiful Arnold Palmer course. It now is now in compromised condition. The greens are thin with what appears to be a fungus or moss. Tee boxes are just dirt with limited grass. Fairways are spotty. Irrigation leak on #8 flooded the fairway. Not one decent lie in any fairway. So sad to see what was once a great course.

Great layout by Arnie, but somewhat rough conditions.
My wife and I looked forward to playing this Arnie Signature design for some time. Where the course layout was challenging but fair - the conditions were somewhat lacking. The fairways were good for the most part, but the rough was very spare in some areas. The greens were slow, bumpy, and inconsistent. The grass didn't really look good on them, and it was tough to gauge speed. Still, the staff was helpful and courteous from the Pro Shop attendant to the Starter and the young man cleaning our clubs at the end. It would be fun to try again if it were a bit greener.
