About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Was disappointed in the cost of stuff in bar area. You expect to pay more, but tacking a service charge on top of the price was a first for me.
$40 bucks for 6 beers is a little steep.

Very poor shape
Greens and cart paths are ridiculous. Bridges have boards missing. Very dangerous. Nothing like when I went several years ago. Would not go again.

Disappointed
The front nine was fairly well maintained, but the back nine was terrible; muddy, greens were chewed up, cart path had bare areas and broken concrete resulting in a very rough ride.

Getting better
I’ve played this course dozens of times since it opened. Over the past few years it’s truly been neglected! But you can see it’s got new owners. They are already making a difference. I played here last fall and it’s already in a LOT better condition! The greens had grass and they are repairing the cart paths. Keep up the work- it’s making a huge difference for a gorgeous layout!!!

Rough shape
Not well manicured. One green not playable and a couple in bad shape. Challenging course, pretty but in rough condition.

Course
Front nine excellent excellent shape, but back nine was in terrible shape from tee to some really terrible greens. Back nine seemed totally neglected. Most all widened bridges had a terrible drop off for the golf cart and really hurt my neck every time.

Swamp Fest
Pro shop staff and starter were friendly. However, we were not made aware of how wet the fairways were. The back nine was nearly unplayable and there was no cup on the temporary 18th green. There were only 2 nice fairways, the rest were not in good shape. Forward tee boxes were not great. Overall, we were disappointed and won’t return nor recommend this course to friends.

Course in transition
Overall was an enjoyable round of golf. I talked to one employee and understand that’s its current management recently took control of its upkeep and is working to make the improvements necessary, which includes tee boxes and some greens. It still was a good value and I enjoyed my round. I’ll probably play it again on my next visit. Good value for the cost.

First round @Hilton Head
Course is in really rough condition. I know a storm hit here last week but I don’t believe it has much to do with the condition of the golf course. Tees a mess, fairways and greens punched. Granted we only paid $50 for the round, but still come on man. Not on my list for a replay. Layout awesome as was cart guy.

Not so good for the money
I thought this might be better than a cheap municipal course. Not so sure about that now. The greens were bad. The overall conditions were a little needy.
When I play a new course, I look for good conditions for the money. This did not meet my expectation.

Course was nice overall,but was under repair. 18th hole was being redesigned and the hole was on the fairway.
