About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Disappointed
Poorly maintained. Keats at the driving range made practice impossible. Very little green on the fairways and it was late March. Terrible cart paths. Only saving grace was not many people on the course so we could play quickly

Needs a Little More Time
Love playing Crescent but it needs a bit more time to green up. Greens are coming but not quite there yet. Tees are in pretty rough shape. Would love to come back in a couple weeks but sadly have to go home.

Great layout but...
This design is excellent. Lots of shots available to be used. But the conditions were atrocious. Greens were rough, and just 'painted o overcome lack of grass. Tee boxes the same, without the paint. fairways were tolerable, but vast former bunkers were just allowed to sort of grow in. New ownership will hopefully alleviate these problems soon.

Don’t waste your money
Course is in awful shape. I don’t think it’s seen water or a seed in years. I placed my ball on a week just so it was on something green

The greens were really not in great shape. Other than that, the course was great.

Course need lots of care Greens fair. Fairways little grass. Tees poor. Played here number of times this the worse conditions

Greens and fairways are in poor conditions not to mention the bunker where you can get more gravels than sand. Overall not a good deal for your money. It is a pity because the design and surroundings of the course are awesome.

Since they paved the broken cemented paths its improved but greens and especially traps still need a lot of attention

Great layout, poor condition.
So much potential, but conditions were not good. Spots of different grasses all over the greens. No grass in fairways.

Where is the grass?
Played here many times over the years. . Almost unrecognizable-very sad to see how neglect and apparent lack of routine maintenance/investment can quickly ruin what was truly an enjoyable course. Cart died 75 yards from clubhouse. Range is horrible-greens had no detectable grass.

Greens were awful. Balls at the driving range were well past their prime.

Truly awful
Newsflash to the owner - Golf courses should have grass. Crescent Pointe does not have grass on many tees, fairways and greens. Should be embarrassed to take money from customers and to have ruined what is a decent course layout. On top of the conditions, restaurant was closed at 5pm...couldn't even access bathrooms after the round. Not enough carts meant waiting 30 minutes to start our round. The driving range has even less grass than the golf course. Only positive was the poor guy wrangling carts who was busting his butt and staying positive.

Great Course
We really enjoyed this course. Obviously it is still early in the season and the first application of fertilizer went in a few days ago, but as the course continues to mature for the year it will only get better. Some very cool Par 3 holes and beautiful SC low-country scenery. Definitely a course we will be back to.
