About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Better than expected
Based on price and other courses in the area we were not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised! Fairways all good. 90% of greens were nice. 1 temporary green. Overall I will play this course again soon. Good value.

Great potential...but not yet ready for prime time
This course is well-designed and will be better once the new ownership is able to bring it back from the brink. Had a 7AM tee time and the pro shows up at 7 to open the course...thankfully the cart guy was there early and helped us until the pro showed up. Forget breakfast before golf...Cafe wasn't open and is not presently managed by present ownership... I believe that this course has a future but the present is pretty rough. If you wonder why it's such a great deal, you now understand why.

Played on the 4th of July
Played with some gentlemen from Ohio. We teed- off at 8:04 and finished at 2 pm. 🥵. HOT AS HECK but had several water coolers. Nice course. One temporary green on 13.

New Ownership is Stepping Up.
Great all around experience. The fairways were some of the kindest I've played. Some of the greens had rough spots but it was evident that they are working hard to remedy any problems. I appreciated that care was taken to place the pins away from any problem areas that existed. My one complaint is that the cart path crosses a street in the community called "Crescent Plantation." This just is not ok. I don't know how much leverage the course has on this, but efforts should be made to change that street name. I'm white, but it is just wrong to romanticize an experience of subjugation, torture, and oppression to fellow human beings.

High Value Course for the HHI area
I was a single and played in 3 hours. Coulda been quicker by playing through one group but had a good round going and didn't want to mess it up. There was 1 temporary green and a couple other greens with minor issues. I would/will play it again for $59.

Greens were rough
The layout was really cool and was great for dad and I who are new to golf to feel like we weren’t holding up the game. The conditions need some work and the greens need a lot of TLC. Talking with some of the staff sounds like new owners are working improving the course conditions which is great to hear because that layout is too good.

This course has a great layout. Tight fairways and the course is in pretty good shape. There might have been 2 greens that were in bad shape.

A change in ownership is very evident. New ownership seems to be putting money and time into the course. I think it will be a different course next year.

Cresent Pointe
Greens were very beat up. Some were unplayable. Tees were bad too. Little grass and more dirt than anything. Rate was too high for the condition of the course.
Staff was friendly but nothing to eat or drink since the grille was closed.

Signature Layout But Not Conditions
First time playing the course was really excited to go out and play with it being a Palmer Signature Course. Disappointed in the condition of the greens, recently just aerated and that's fine we knew when booking, compared to the course I played yesterday that had aerated 2 weeks ago the condition was abysmal. There was like 2 greens that were atrocious and completely bare, others had green top dress on it to hide the dead spots.
Overall I loved the layout, alot of position play needed off some holes that dogleg and with the short par 4s. If it weren't for the unique layout the rating would be lower, the condition of the greens bring down the overall rating.

Greens could use some work. Layiout was great, couple holes extend out into the marsh. For the money well worth the experience.
