About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

COW PASTURE
This course is in a state of freefall, declining to the depths of despair I have rarely encountered.
The tee boxes were atrocious
The greens were moldy.
The greens haven’t been punched and sanded in a long time.
The fairways were below standard.
This course is not a $60 course, maybe $35.
I would not recommend playing this course.

Course has a good layout but has not been taken care of as fairways were brown and dry and greens were not in good shape.

The back nine of the golf course is in much better condition than the front
It’s like you played two different golf courses . The front nine holes of the course is in bad condition the back nine holes of the golf course are in fair condition .

Poor conditions
Terrible conditions of the course.
Cart paths were absolutely terrible.
Green were in poor condition.
More grass on the greens than on the fairway. And not in a good way.

Surprised!!!
Probably the worst, no the worst HHI course based on conditions. However, the layout and the challenge of the course was outstanding. It does not change the fact the the conditions were very bad!!! They should have told and warned us of this.
I will give it a year or two hopefully it will become a jewel!!

Hard Times
Played 4/21/23. We vacation in HH every year about this time. usually play Crescent Pointe every year and it has been one of our favorites. I play municipal courses at home and I am not a golf snob by any stretch of the imagination. Crescent is on hard times right now. Greens look black with green paint. Course doesn't look like it has seen water in months, cart paths are broken with roots and potholes and the wooden bridges need a lot of work. We love the layout and truly hope things turn around in a hurry.

Good bones
Layout terrific. Condition terrifically poor. Just overgrown and neglected. I was told it was sold the day before we played, and hopefully this bodes well for the restoration of a fantastic layout.

Lack of maintenance
Greens dying from Fungi and almost all black dirt. Tee boxes almost all dirt. No real grass just a cut weeds

Terrible condition
I started playing this course 25 years ago. It was a beatiful track. A wonderful routing. I haven't played it for few years. Now, no grass on the practice facility. Very little grass on the greens, mostly dirt, tee boxes lack grass. This was a beautiful course, now terrible.

Fun course but needs some love
The course needs some improvements! The grass is in rough shape and the greens need some love. My girlfriend is very much a beginner and it was a great course for her. Talking with a resident who lives on the course, said that the course was just bought by a group that owns other signature course. Hopefully the new owner will make the necessary changes to help a fun course. We will definitely be back to see the improvements. Would recommend after improvements are made.
