About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Fair Value
This course needs some TLC. It is surprising to me that many courses in the Bluffton area are this expensive to play when the course conditions are this poor. The course had nearly 30% of the cart paths torn out for replacement. The greens were fair but had many weeds. Recommend play but find a discounted price.

Nice course bad condition
I have played this course dozens of times over past 3 years. Condition was the worst I have ever seen it. Not worth the money at this point.

They should not be using his name. The course depicted on the website does not exist. The course is in rough shape and they stated that it is better then is has been. Weed control, fertilizer and water needed! No grass on most of the tee boxes, weeds and dirt. They are in the process of repairing the cart paths which it desperately needed. The bunkers that remain have some newer sand but the edges are not cut. Many bunkers have been let go to grass. Fairways unevenly cut. I hope Hallmark has a master plan, because it needs i one and to be implemented now.
Play here when the course is better maintained
Loved the course layout - very interesting, good amount of water, nice views of the low country. But the course is poorly maintained - greens were slow, fairways uneven with weeds, grass overgrown on the tees, etc. But the worst was the broken shape of the cart paths. Lots of repairs to be done. When the course has been fixed and better maintained, it would be great to play

Bad Shape
The cart paths are under construction, making driving a real challenge. Lots of grassless places on the fairways and the greens were too slow. The course needs alot of work.

Should not be charging money to play
Worst course I have ever played! I played here 5 years ago, it was a decent course. Greens were not mowed, some fairways were mowed, some tee boxes were mowed. Most of the cart path is being demolished and obstructing path. Not a big deal except the crew is leaving concrete in the way and not filling holes. Putting was impossible, was amazed at how bad this course was. Do not spend any money at this place! I waisted $150 here Friday, find another course!
Not being maintained
This used to be one on the best courses in the Hilton Head area but now it is absolutely terrible. Very little grass on tee boxes except weeds, fairways are unkept with tall weeds, and greens are like putting on a shag rug. Currently the course is more suitable for farm animals to graze than to play golf. It is so tragic since this used to be a great course. Hopefully somebody can restore it to its former level.

Great time, Great staff
Course layout was incredible. Lived the marshes and views. Course staff was incredibly kind. Only thing which could have been weather related were the greens were a bit slow, but other than that everything was terrific.

Absolutely terrible condition
This used to be one of the best kept courses in the area, but now it is in terrible condition. Tee boxes don't have grass, just weeds. Fairways are in really bad shape as well with more weeds than grass and uneven lies in the fairways. The greens are a quarter inch high fur and not suitable for putting. The cart paths have been partially removed and makes for dangerous driving around the course since they haven't been filled with any temporary material prior to the renovations. It just seems like they have quit taking care of the property. It is really sad

I am sorry I didn't read previous reviews. A lot of them were spot on.
The gentleman at the bag drop was fantastic. The pro shop was great.
Then we headed to the driving range. No grass to hit from.
On course, we found that a majority of the tees had grass (contrary to previous reviews). Although there were a few tees has longer grass. To be fair there was a team out there cutting and manicuring some of the tee decks.
Unfortunately due to extensive rains, we were subjected to cart path only. Once again to be fair, they had crews out there demolishing parts of the cart path. There were still sections that need help but progression is being made.
The fairways and greens need cutting. There were times walking the fairways we had to backtrack to find our ball. Frustrating to say the least. Clumps of long grass in the middle of the fairway made it very unappealing.
The greens were the same story. It was so bad that we actually called a two putt max.
Would I ho back? Yes. The course has a great layout with fantastic views. Given some time Crescent Point will be a great place to play for the money. Right now. Not so much.

poor condition
cart paths in terrible shape
greens were a furry as carpet and commical how slow they were.
hole 15th's green was being remade so a fairway was cut in the middle of the fairway.
Would never pay 75$ to play this course again with all the other great courses on the island. I wouldn't play the course again for 35$

Terrible condition beautiful setting
Tee boxes like fairway bunkers only one grassy, big clumps of long grass throughout fairways, greens putt like fairways, cart path terrible shape.

Course is in terrible shape
We played the course a few years ago and it was in great shape with a great layout. The layout is still fine but the course conditions are atrocious. The drainage is nonexistent to the point where there a puddles on every fairway, the course is not groomed whatsoever, the cart paths are beyond repair. Sad to see such a nice course let go like that.

Poorly Maintained
Such a shame. A really well designed course, but the course is not maintained at all. Would be a real gem if they put some money into it. Not worth the money for the condition it is in.
