About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Where’s the green?
GN didn’t mention aerification. Rest of course decent but greens awful. There has to be better options for the money.

Hope they will improve
Unfortunately, we arrived 3 weeks after the course was bought out. They were undergoing some major green repairs which left sand covering most of the greens and making them unplayable. It made it very difficult to enjoy our round. The staff was very friendly overall and I don't discredit them in this review. However, it would have been nice to know beforehand that the greens were going to be in this condition. A discount would have been appropriate before beginning our round. However, the manager gave us two rounds to use in the next 6 months. Hopefully we can make it down again and hopefully the course has some improvements by then.

Arnie Would be Devastated
I usually play the course once during our annual trip and noticed a continual decline in Course conditions, but this was the worst. Yes, I was surprised by the recent aeration as I wasn’t mentioned on their lacking webpage, but it was more than that…weeds and lacking grass everywhere. The carts are in poor condition. One of the comfort stations didn’t have water. Finally, I couldn’t book a tee time on their webpage for their course, but could for their other courses. I won’t be back.

Course needs work
The greens were in bad shape. The fairways were okay, but the tee boxes were terrible.
With the right management this course has great potential.
Pace of play was good and the staff is nice.

Not worth $72 to play this course
The pace of play was wonderful as I saw no other golfers on the course. The fairways were OK and the rough was very much so, with a lot of weeds where grass should be. I found the putting greens and pin placement to be quite difficult., and the greens were cut very close to the ground. The course lay out was nice but I found it to be quite difficult for a person of my abilities. I will not play here again.

This golf course is well designed and has a lot of interesting holes. It's a challenging course with a lot of bunkers and water hazards. There are quite a few elevated greens as well. The condition of the course has declined over the past few years, as I have played this course numerous times on trips to Hilton Head. The cost of a round here is fair based on the current condition as many of the courses in this area are more expensive. It was still a fun place to play and I will play here again in the future, but I'd like to see the management company running this facility put some investment into the course as it relates to the greens and tee boxes.

Terrible Shape
I would not recommend playing this course. It is currently in terrible condition. Tee box’s are not maintained, greens are very damaged. Very disappointed being an Arnold Palmer designed course with a lot of potential.

Greens for most part were fine. Fairways a little bare. Pace of play a little slow.

Dissatisfied
This course is so completely unkept it’s beyond words. Every tee box is overgrown with weeds and clumpy uncut grass.
Fairways are OK but anything just off the fairway is knee high weeds unless you’re under trees where pine straw is covering the ground.
The greens are utterly and sadly without grass …like a pool table with splotches of “not sure” grass.
The sand trap’s were the only good part of this golf course. … had good sand and were surprisingly groomed.

Disappointed
We have played at Crescent many times and have never seen the course i m such terrible shape. It was overgrown and with weeds everywhere. The tee boxes were either bare i uncut. It was clear there hasn’t been any maintenance in a long time. It was very sad to see.

Crescent Point GC in the Spring
I have played this course several times in the past. This time the greens were the worst I have ever seen them. It may be that the Bermuda Grass is not yet thriving due to slower heating up this spring. The layout is quite nice with multiple beautiful marsh views. Due to the residential location, quite a bit of time has to be spent navigating between green and next tee. I have played in the past and enjoyed much better course conditions.

Being very honest! Very disappointed in the course conditions. For being an Arnie designed, premium golf track, it was a buzz-kill.
Tee boxes were shabby at best. Fairways were OK. Rough and Traps need plenty of work. Just looks like there's no money being invested in the course. "If" I played ever it again, I wouldn't pay more 35$ to play it.
Two our foursome backed after investigating the conditions.

Course conditions
The overall course conditions were ok, which is a far cry from the practice putting green and chipping green. The course greens need attention, hopefully, that can be sure solved as the weather warms.
