About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Disappointed
Wasn't in good shape. Fairways not in good shape, sand traps a mess greens in good shape.. I have played this course a dozen or so times as was disappointed for first time. Also ranger not moving some foursomes that we're playing slow.

I's an Arnie!
Crescent Point is pretty typical of a Palmer designed course. If you are young enough and good enough to play the back tees, this course is a monster. Being 75, I played the green tees and had a wonderful time (thank the lord for one putts - 6). One par three green is in bad shape. Hopefully that will be alleviated.

Wonderful layout but awful carts and cart paths
This is very nice design layout. If only they would fix the rest.. Arnold would not like seeing it now.
The problem that really plagued us that day were the awful carts. We thought they were going to fall apart. Then drive them on the terrible conditioned paths and it was worse - horrible bumpy rides.

Packed course
Booked an 11:56 AM teatime, arrived at the course and didn’t realize they were running a shotgun tournament. No carts available but made it work. Slightly over two hours for a twosome to finish nine holes but then the back up started on the back. 45 minutes to place three holes, 10 through 12. Decided I didn’t want a six hour round so left. Love the layout on this course but just too many people today..

Still disappointed
Have played this course three times in the last couple of years. The potential is there, the up-keep is not. The course could be really nice with a little more work. The greens are in decent shape except for the 15th. Bunkers are not cut and they are letting the grass over take them with some bunkers completely grassed over. Cart paths are in rough shape. Paid the local rate. Would not play at standard rate

Great Value!
Challenging course and great value. I suspect it used to be much more challenging but it seems they have chose not to maintain some of the bunkers, Nonetheless great value! If you like a course where you must land the ball and can't grip and rip this is one for you.

Great course!
We were able to get an early morning tee time and felt like we had the course to ourselves. It has a challenging layout, with holes that demand accuracy as well as those where you can let it rip. There were some areas on the course that could use some TLC, but most of the greens were in pretty good shape. There are also some great views scattered throughout. The staff was friendlier than I am used to. In all, we were very happy with our experience and feel like it was a great value for the money.

Nice layout
First time playing this course and definitely not my best round but the course made you think about each shot which is what I like. The course was a little narrow and consisted of several holes that require you to layup so if you just want to hit a driver all day this is not the course for you. There were a few tee boxes that were a little bare and a couple of greens still needing work but each green when a quality shot was hit into them would hold the ball and even backup which is something I'm not use to. Being the middle of summer and in the south I thought the course was overall in good shape. I would definitely consider playing this course again.

Interesting and challenging
I liked the layout of this Arnold Palmer design. It was interesting and challenging without being unreasonably difficult. Course could use a little TLC but overall in good condition especially considering the amount of rain that has fallen lately. There are many courses to choose from in the area but this is one to which I will definitely return.
