About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Challenging course
The staff was very helpful and welcoming. I found the course layout difficult for my game. The cart paths were brutal. Today the back nine was cart path only and it needed to be. Poor drainage. The greens were in very good condition.

A little soggy, but worthy course. Nice layout, different and challenging holes. Maintenance needs to lay off water since locally have gotten plenty of rain the last month. Love the layout.Will be back plenty of times.

Course Conditions
Course layout is great but the conditions where below average. Course could be great if they took care of it. The sand in the bunkers where like hitting off concrete.

Unfair Swamp Course in Bad Conditions
There’s a line between difficult and just plain stupid, unfair course layout, and Crescent Pointe Golf Club crosses it. You could find yourself hitting a good shot, and when you arrive to it, there’s a mysterious hazard in an unseen place. There was one par 3 that’s was over 200 yards and you had about a 10 yard window to land it or you were with the gators. Overall, a disastrous layout. The course was also in poor shape, with bad bunkers and wet spots all over. The greens were also very slow. The starter on hole one was also rude and hateful. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Good golf course. Good layout. Friendly staff. I would take out a few bunkers in order to reduce maintenance costs; speed up play; and make a few of the holes a little more playable for the average player. Thanks!

Arnie would not be happy
Played this Arnold Palmer signature course 8-10 years ago and was excited to play again. Terribly disappointed. Course is in terrible shape. We were advised the course had been neglected over the past 6 yrs but it needs a TON of work! COULD be a great course with the right management and some serious investment. Will not play again until significant improvements are made. There are so many other great courses to choose from down here.

Challenging but fair - Enjoyable Round
Course was a good challenge for all levels in our group with little overall frustration. There were a few holes that were wet but it was to be expected with the amount of rain that the area has had. Highly recommended giving it a play. You won’t be disappointed.
Suggestion for the staff, pick a better time to cut the driving range so players can warmup before a morning round.

Good course, wet conditions
Course was very wet due to thunderstorms the last several days. Cart path only on a few holes and fringes were so wet ball would plug. Greens were smooth but very slow. Overall a good fair test of golf under good conditions. Cart paths were really rough.
